5 stars out of 5

Tarte Baba Bomb Moisturizer ($39) launched this last Summer and yes, I had my doubts about it. Sometimes color cosmetic brands that start venturing into skincare make me nervous and Tarte has been doing a lot of venturing lately. Some of the products they’ve launched in their skincare line aren’t exactly fabulous! I’m talking to you Knockout Tingle Treatment Toner. Remember kids, it doesn’t have to tingle to let you know it’s working.

Tarte’s gone crazy lately with release after release of different serums, potions, and lotions. The past year has been a whirlwind of interesting skincare launches and Baba Bomb Moisturizer was one.

And guess what?

They are doing it right with this formula.

From the formula to the packaging Tarte Baba Bomb Moisturizer gets a solid check point mark across the board. This moisturizer arrives in an airtight jar with a press mechanism that allows you to press down on the jar and just the right amount of the moisturizer pops right out of a spout located in the middle of the jar. This keeps things fresh, mess and bacteria-free as the moisturizer is never exposed to the air nor your fingers.

Tarte says this is a whipped moisturizer but it’s actually more of a heavier, creamier gel that absorbs very easily into skin and leaves it beautifully smooth, soft, and well hydrated! It should work great for drier, normal or combo skin types. It’s completely fragrance-free (YAY Tarte! Good job!), and contains a host of plant oils and antioxidants such as green tea, as well as olive, babassu, and avocado oils. It plumps up skin very nicely as well and works great under makeup and had a lightweight feel on my skin that’s hydrating but never greasy nor oily. I used it all through the Summer and although fairly rich it didn’t leave me shiny nor did it feel too moisturizing or heavy!

All in all, a very solid daily moisturizer that will hydrate skin and give it a more plumped up smoother appearance.

Excellent pick up!

Muse Approved.

Sigh… so much for my “I don’t want much from the Sephora sale” …. adds to ever growing list…. 😀

Seriously tho, this stuff sounds very nice. And Yay for fragrance free! ‘Bout time they listened!!!

LMAO yeah I get it ;-D It’s lovely! I’m shocked! Tarte normally toes the line with the skincare launches!

I like the dispensing, like a cushion foundation. Let’s hope that the trend for fragrance and air free takes off.

Tarte is now mostly owned by Japanese skin care giant Koss. Not surprised that their skin care has been fab.

Most Japanese skin care has fragrance and alcohol but for some reason, their formulations usually don’t bother me. I find the formulations of most of their products and in general, non irritating.

likewise. I never have an issue with Korean and Japanese products with alcohol! I’d never give up my beloved Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist! However, as much as I can I try to avoid alcohol here in the US as it isn’t always agreeable as Asian formulas.
