I’ve Been Waiting All My Life for a Hydrating Benefit POREfessional

Oh my god! Finally! There’s a new Benefit the POREfessional Hydrate Primer and I’m all about out. I don’t typically like silicone primers but I’ve been to enjoy the POREfessional from time to time. It’s particularly a good little primer for me in the Summer when I’m wearing less makeup and my skin is showing a little shine. But honestly, it’s about damn time they did a hydrating version of it right?

Benefit The POREfessional Hydrate Primer launched late last month and I was nodding my head in approval because the weather is getting colder, the snow is starting to drop, and my skin is two sizes too small. A hydrating primer is just what I need. This one contains Hyaluronic Acid which is so disappointingly low on the list. It’s a water-based formula with glycerin. It does contain a good deal of silicones such as Dimethicone so, sadly you aren’t getting rid of the cones with this formula.

That being said maybe it’ll be nicely hydrating. It is oil-free which means you’ll get the moisture without the shine and oiliness. Lucky enough it’s available in a mini 0.25 oz size to try and it’s on sale at Ulta for Buy 3, get 1 Free (mix and match all minis from Tarte, Benefit, Urban Decay, and More). I grabbed a mini to try out and will share my thoughts soon!

The larger size is 0.75 oz and $32 which is the exact same price and size of the original.

Benefit the POREfessional Hydrate Primer is available now.

Are you excited about a hydrating formula in this old fan favorite?

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I’m going to pass on this one as I don’t really need the hydration. However, I do have a question for you as I’ve gotten my skin in really good shape based on your recommendationsite :). I have been seeing a lot of products for “doll skin” and “glass skin”. Can you tell me what that means and the outward appearance of that? So many marketing schemes.

Oh my gosh flattered to hear that 😀 glass skin is skin that’s completely poreless, translucent, and luminous. In some trends you’ll find people saying that it also means a hint of dewiness or even using a cream primer of sorts under your makeup to get a bit of a luminosity. Doll skin is a little different in the fact it refers to plumped skin with a porcelain finish. Much of it can be achieved with a good Hyaluronic Acid like Hado Labo Goku-jyun Lotion in my experience. The entire idea is your skin is smooth like glass or plumped up and pinch-able like a doll’s cheeks!

Thank you so much for that as they have products for the skin and tools to achieve this as well. Im combination oily but no blemishes, uneven pigment or scars. I use many of the products you suggested from CosRx, Skin food, Clinique hydrating jelly, even the exfoliating swispers make a difference! I found (I know your not near a Gabes) some Swispers facial wipes, along with Nivea Wipes – 2 versions for only $2.00. I hope they are gentle and effective.

My pleasure and I am so so glad some of the items I recommended worked for you! ;-D Let me know about the swispers wipes! I’d be curious to hear how they work out!
