Are you missing Commodity Fragrances? Well, good news! Commodity Fragrances and Perfumes will return and relaunch very soon and you’ll get to watch it unfold. How do you reboot a niche fragrance house from the ground up? You’ll learn shortly. In a video yesterday, president and founder of Europerfumes, Vicken Arslanian, said that Commodity will return!

Commodity unexpectedly closed their doors and the fragrances all were discounted massively (some are still available at a discount on At first the brand’s website remained up and said they’d return soon but a few months down the road the discounts starting popping up and the website was taken down. Most fans, myself included, felt this was the end.

Commodity was an interesting fragrance house that encouraged layering and creating new, unique fragrances by cocktailing different scents from their collection. Some of my beloved favorites include Wool, Gold, Velvet, and Nectar.

It’ll be nice to see it return and thankfully enough Vicken Arslanian and his company Europerfumes stepped in and purchased Commodity so we can see that happen. This is thrilling news considering Europerfumes distributes some of my favorite niche brands like Histoires de Parfum, Montale Paris, Roja Parfums, and many more.

One of the most interesting ideas that comes out of return of Commodity Fragrances is that Vicken plans to film the entire thing and I guess make it into a web series of sorts. He plans on putting together videos of what it takes to reboot a brand from start to finish. I am fascinated by niche fragrance and have an extensive collection of fragrance so I’m looking forward to watching this series and in the future restocking some of my beloved Commodity Fragrances and maybe, just maybe, discovering some new ones too!

So, a big thanks to Vicken Arslanian for buying Commodity and making its reboot possible. I am looking forward to watching how this unfolds how about you?

Yay! I just discovered Bois this year and wanted to buy a full size. Thanks for the update!

I bought a travel size of Velvet on clearance. Truly amazing. I don’t know if the others are like it, but it is the most complex, layered fragrance I’ve ever tried. It just continues to change and evolve throughout the wear! Wish I had bought a full size!

I am sooo excited! I grabbed Velvet, Gold and Book during the clearance and was so sad that the company was closing. Thanks for letting us know about the relaunch and I am looking forward to watching the videos! If nothing else, maybe we will learn which (hopefully all) fragrances are returning.
Off topic, I saw that coffee break is back in stock and I am still on the fence about this fragrance. Do you have wisdom you can provide to help me get me make a decision? Thanks!

I’m so excited that they’re coming back! My favourite perfume of theirs is Velvet. I am crossing my fingers that they’re bringing back the original line and excited to see what they’ll be bringing new to the table. I also really love the other line they distribute: histoire de parfum

I have been hoarding what’s left of my bottle of Gold so that I could enjoy it longer. This is great news!

Ugh, I feel like you. If I love a product, it’s bound to be discountinued. I am many months behind reading your blog, but this makes me sad. I LOVED Commodity Bergamot. I am so bummed the company discontinued the fragrance and went also out of business, hopefully to be revived. I thought they did some of the most interesting fragrances in recent years.
