Thank God E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer Is Here Because The Original Was Scary

Praise the gods of moisture because today they gift us with a new E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer! Camo Concealer launched last January and I quickly got excited that maybe just maybe E.L.F. would have a Tarte Shape Tape Concealer dupe on their hands. After watching many videos (which I rarely do) and reading many reviews I eagerly awaited my package of shades to arrive that I had ordered. Many of the videos and reviews were raving claiming how pigmented and easy to apply the formula was. I rubbed my hands in glee, may have did a little jump in the air, licked my lips, and eagerly peered out the window while casually stalking the mail man for my box. Because, you see, if nothing else I’m a concealer junkie and I do so love trying out new ones. I don’t really have a ton of darkness under my eyes but I’m prone to puffiness and I always look tired if I don’t have a nice brightening concealer under my eyes.

When my package arrived last year I may or may not have torn into it with my teeth. I was pretty damn excited about this launch.

Sadly, all the excitement was wasted because the formula sucked. It was too damn drying. I could not get it to work for my life. The pigment was amazing, the creaminess of the formula was great, but it dried so quickly it was pretty difficult to blend and when it did set it settled and accentuated every single under eye wrinkle I had. It was just a really soul sucking dry formula.

MUCH to my delight we have a NEW version of Camo Concealer! Hydrating version! But wait, did they mess up? I hope not! According to the description this has a satin finish that won’t settle into finer lines making it a great option for drier skin. Ok, I’m willing to try it because satin isn’t a bad thing by any means but I just hope they really improved upon the formula.

A quick glance at the ingredients reveals that both formulas appear the same but this formula does lack Kaolin which can be drying. Aside from that I don’t see a lot of super hydrating elements in this formula but I have hopes that doesn’t mean it’ll be drying! We’ll see I guess because I ordered a few shades to try out!

One other thing I took note of is they dropped 16H from the name! I guess the more hydrating version isn’t going to last for 16 hour as promised by the old version.

E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer is available now at Ulta.

Def in on it, but was not for last year’s. W/ DS concealers, at least you can get multiple shades to try. Fave DS (maybe all ends) is Revolution. There is no such thing as too many concealers. Too much e/s and l/s yeah, but not concealers.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is exactly what happened to me and the original concealer! That cr@p made it look like I have more wrinkles under my eye than I’ll probably ever have! I ordered a couple of the new hydrating shades, too. So glad I’m not the only one who had this experience. Every time I hear someone claim that the original is a Shape Tape dupe, I want to scream lol.

I got this for from target few weeks ago but I’m not sure how I feel about it. The shade range is much different from that of the regular Camo concealer. It doesn’t seem to run as light. The texture though is emollient but I wouldn’t say Hydrating. As with any makeup, you should have well hydrated and moisturized skin and I think that’s where everyone’s thoughts on this are subjective. I like a really well moisturized and dewy skin. I use an European spf 50 daily. I think this concealer will suit a lot more people than the regular Camo. If you want a very Hydrating and radiant concealer with about medium coverage, I highly recommend the new L’Oreal age perfect radiant concealer! I’ve had that one a couple weeks now and it is my absolute favorite next to No.7 Lift and Luminate concealer. These are both very hydrating but the No.7 leaves a more satin finish rather than a sheen of radiance like the L’Oreal. I really, very much like the direction that knew her make up lunches are going though! Drugstore make up is really becoming so much better.
