Do We Need Anything From The Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale?

This is a lighthearted post about the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale because at the moment I’m not sure if anyone is actually concerned about buying makeup that’s on sale even if some of the sales are tempting. Like hey, 25% Off Charlotte Tilbury has me slightly excited over here! I’m human! I’m weak! I can’t help myself!

But I can proudly say the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale has yet to tempt me. How about you? Need anything from the sale?

Here’s what I might buy!

Ok, I’m gonna throw it out there and say so far the sale sucks. It’s a lot of repetitive items! Today we have Estee Lauder DayWear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant 24H-Moisture Creme Broad Spectrum SPF 15 on sale and unless you really, really love it I’m not sure it’s something I’d recommend indulging in even at a discount.

Tomorrow is a good day because the Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love is $12 and if you never tried it that would be one I’d recommend grabbing. It’s such a beautiful buttery lipstick!

Other upcoming items I’m going to grab would be Tarte Shape Tape, It Superhero Mascara (I have a love hate relationship with this stuff), Cover FX Monochromatic Blush, and I might do a back up of Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette because I’ve almost hit pan on some shades if you can believe that.

There are a few hot buys worth looking at right now as well! Peach & Lily Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask is on sale at $30. This is a resurfacing mask which I quite like. It leaves skin very smooth and soft. My favorite lightweight foundation is also on sale! Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation SPF 15! Really a great one for the warmer weather. Leaves skin super smooth and bright! I haven’t tried it yet but the new Stila Hide & Chic Fluid Foundation is also on sale, incentive for me to give it a whirl! And last but not least Bye Bye Pores Blush in Sweet Cheeks is a gorgeous golden pinky peach that’s worthy of a haul! I’m wearing it below.

I was hoping for Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation to be included. I got a backup for $19.50 or something from Macys a while ago but I’m very close to kicking my current tube and want another backup. I love that foundation! Bought it to use for my wedding last Oct and been using it since, alternating with Physicians Formula The Healthy foundation (which I bought forgot about, rediscovered and now also love).

I’m going to the try two of the Becca lipsticks and need some Tarte Shape Tape, so those are for sure. I am a little interested in Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Eye Shadow Palette unless someone, please, talks me out of it.

To be honest, their offerings didn’t wow me even before this virus put a kink in everything. So I really wasn’t planning on getting anything anyway except I do want to get one of the Cover FX blushes because I like the idea of having a matte and a shimmer in the same color family in the same compact. Also I saw swatches and they look nice. I feel like a lot of the stuff is the same old, same old. Was hoping they’d shake things up a bit this time…However, that being said, perhaps they will since their stores are closing and they will have to have an incentive for people to shop so I predict that we will be getting new things added on a daily basis. They already dropped their shipping threshold to $15.00 which is nice…

Too true. I see a few bits I want but a lot is the same o’ same o’! The blushes I do want! I already have some but I want a few other shades! They are quite lovely! It was great they did that and there are a lot of sales at the moment everywhere but not sure if everyone is up for shopping with things as they are but I’m sure over the next month the sales are going to slam us as more and more stores close down to prevent the spread of the disease!

I’m not feeling super into shopping for makeup right now (crazy, right?!), but I did order a couple of the Kopari deodorants when they were on sale earlier this week. It’s been my standard for the last couple years, and figure even in an apocalypse, I’ll still need deodorant! And then tomorrow I’ll probably get the Clinique acne gel, because that’s a regular product for me, and I have a multiplier on Urban Decay through the end of the week, so will probably pick up a couple Uzi eyeliners, because I use that almost every day. Although I don’t know if I’ll be wearing any makeup at all, anytime soon!

Times are definitely weird now though, and I feel a lot less like I should be spending any money on myself right now, when other people/businesses need it a lot more.

Nothing tempting me here! But I caved and bought a bunch of the Mac glow play blushes from Nordstrom. That deal was too good to pass up!

  • Beth

I stocked up on the ABH Brow Wiz, which I always do during the sale. Used points and got a gift and free shipping, so that made me happy. But won’t be buying anything else.

  • Merideth

You are a national treasure. “25% Off Charlotte Tilbury has me slightly excited over here! I’m human! I’m weak! I can’t help myself!” was the first thing that made me laugh out loud in a few days. Thanks very much!

I’m looking forward to getting the Deep Ceansing Oil on the 30t h, and the Buxom lip gloss. Next month. I don’t know what color. It all seems to not matter anymore.
I appreciate your articles in this time we can’t be social, it gives me a sense of community. So thank you.

This whole covid thing helps us all put m/u in perspective. Is it grand, and do we love it? HELL YA! But is new stuff mandatory at present? Methinks not. Most of us have enough to share and infect our whole towns. Funny, not funny. Remember Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs: food, shelter… Self-actualization is at the end. I doubt that appearance makes the list. I’m not U…ing, S…ing, or even Nordy-ing or Amazon-ing at present. Delivery people are at great risk. Wonder how their companies are protecting them from us, and teaching clean/anti-viral techniques? So, my approach is think makeup, don’t buy makeup. I still cruise the sites (which is where I found out that S is closed for the duration) but have zero interest in acquisition. The covid thing has far greater implications than sending our retirement funds into the toilet (you know, the ones without paper) creating scarcities, and overwhelming our medical centers. Covid will make fundamental changes, like 9/11.

I agree with you Muse; I think there is a lot of repeats. I’ve bought two things so far, but they are probably the only items I will be purchasing. Arcona’s Wine Oil at 50% off (love this stuff!) and Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion at 30% off (also love!) But everything else I’ve seen coming up holds no interest for me.

  • Barbara Grossmeyer

I think browsing and BUYING makeup is a great way to cheer up these days. Remember….these businesses need to stay in BUSINESS. So buying is not a bad thing at all. I thank the Muse for keeping us informed and on top of things.

  • Lisa

I did get some Ofra highlighters the other day and took advantage of the 30% bareminerals highlighter, that’s it so far, what can I say, highlighters make me happy. Happy spring!

I was thinking about trying the Kylie Cosmetics lip singles lip gloss on sale March 28th for 7.50-8.50. I have wanted to try her lip gloss for a while, so I thought this would be a good way to try them out. Have you tried them? If so, what did you think? is it worth it?
