Will I Like Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas Featherweight Protective Primer if I Didn’t Like The Silk Canvas Protective Primer?

The question begging to be answered at the moment is will I like the new Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas Featherweight Protective Primer if I didn’t like the Silk Canvas Protective Primer? I found the Silk Canvas Protective Primer oddly greasy on my dry skin and was disappointed overall in the product! It just wasn’t my thing! I will say E.L.F. did a better job with the Poreless Putty Primer in my opinion plus, hey, it’s cheaper too!

Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas Featherweight Protective Primer was created to not only prime skin for makeup but also to protect. I decided to briefly look at the ingredients and compare them to the original form of the Silk Canvas as I was curious if the two products were the same just in different mediums of liquid and solid. They do indeed have some of the same ingreidnets but are not complete duplication of each other. I imagine if you’re considering purchasing the new version and already own the solid one you probably don’t need to jump right in. I mean, if you like the solid version and it’s part of your regular routine I don’t think you need to jump right into liquid/cream version of the product. I also compared the price and size of each product and both are marked at $52 but the new formula is a smidge bigger at 1 oz compared to 0.7 oz on the solid formula. Even though the cream formula has more product I have a feeling you’ll run through it a bit faster.

This was created with the same exact idea as the original. It’s an oil-free primer that helps protection skin with a silky texture that feels weightless and provides a smooth canvas for makeup to adhere to while protecting skin from pollutants.

I see it as if I were to take my The Silk Canvas Protective Primer and melt it down into a cream would I feel like it performed any better for me? Probably not. It’s just not a formula I liked. That being said maybe the fact that some of the ingredients are a bit different on the new formula will make me like it a bit better. I was thinking if it felt and worked as well as my beloved Revlon Photoready Primer that I could totally get on board with it.

What do you think?

Will you like Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas Featherweight Protective Primer if you didn’t like The Silk Canvas Protective Primer?

Did you like the original solid version and are you excited for the new cream version?
