MAC Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss Brings Back Some Feel Good Makeup Memories

MAC Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss dropped today but I’m not sure how far we’ll be taking this considering we all have to wear masks for god knows how long. I do wish they pushed these lipglosses to another date but hey, they do bring back some feel good makeup memories.

These new glosses are available in six shades and promise a high-shine, non-sticky texture with a “sweet sting” complex that increases stimulation to lips to create volume. Hey, at least they admit the formula stings! Apparently they have a cooling sensation as well with hyaluronic acid and avocado oil to provide long term moisturizing benefits.

I remember I used to be obsessed with plumping lipglosses. Ok, so, aging myself here but who was obsessed with Lip Venom? I was! I was! I remember when they did a Twilight Lip Venom and that was so the thing for me. It not only plumped but gave you those blood red Edward Cullen lips. I do sometimes get embarrassed thinking back on some of my fandoms sometimes….! Ha!

I think I’m terribly scared of fillers and for me plumping glosses just seem the next best thing. I do like that many of the newer formulas that have launched in recent years are quite gentle and not as harsh as Lip Venom was. I mean, to me, Lip Venom was a tickle but to some sensitive users it was a major sting! Nowadays when you seeing “plumping” formula it typically means you’ll be getting a really thick gloss to give the illusion of volume. Where as before formulas contained things like cinnamon to actually irritate your lips into a fuller appearance.

P.S. I used to hate MAC Lipglass with a passion. I always felt it was the worst kind of sticky, tacky grossness. I still do in someways but that tackiness really does make it last and last and last. I have my doubts that the new Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss will not be sticky nor tacky but we’ll see how that goes. I’m curious to try this formula.

MAC Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss is available now.

Yeah, I am really bummed out not being able to wear lipgloss as it is (was?!?) the only makeup I used all the time. I do like MAC Lipglass but hate the expense (as you can see from my name, I am a cheapskate). Any idea what they cost? I was never that into plumping products but I do remember a Covergirl lipgloss that had some kind of mint in it- positioned more as a breath freshener than a plumper. It tingled a little bit. Believe it was “Amazemint” which was an offshoot of the Lipslicks line.

Unless QVC offers any value sets or better pricing, it’s still a better deal to purchase MAC directly from them when they have Friends &Family sale, or when you can get 20% off from ULTA or any other retailer that may offer a special price. I think the Q is a little late to snag MAC. What do you think??

More than likely we’ll see good value sets from them so it could be competitive with an FF sale.

Omg lip venom was one of my first Sephora purchases!! All the magazines used to talk about it. That tingle made you think it was making a difference. Good memories lol.
