Becca Zero Pigment Foundation and Makeup A Brilliant Idea or a Crazy Gimmick

Is Becca Zero Pigment Foundation what of the makeup world’s most brilliant ideas or just a crazy gimmick? Picture this. A foundation with zero pigment that blurs and smooths skin giving it a transparent, matte finish. Wait a minute, isn’t that what primer does?

Becca Zero Pigment Foundation contains absolutely pigment. It’s completely transparent so no need to match your skin. Without the pigment it basically enhances your own skin giving it a perfect appearance. It uses Clear Light Blue Technology which is a water releasing powder what burst upon contact to blur the appearance of imperfections. It also contains hyaluronic acid. Here’s where things get more interesting though….! If you’re like me and thinking, “Oh sounds like a primer!” you might be interested to know it is silicone-free! Hmmm! And apparently it controls oil all day while still providing moisture. The gel-like texture is cool upon contact with skin absorbs instantly leaving behind smooth skin.

Interesting right?

Along with the foundation there’s a new Becca Zero Face + Lip Glass Highlighter ($24). Again, this is absolutely pigment-free! This is a clear multi-use highlighter that gives skin a glass-like glow without the sticky feel. It can be used on the high points of your face for a glass-like look as well as on lips for a glossy shine. I wonder if you wanted to create glass eye look you can use your favorite powder eyeshadow and mix it with this and apply on lids!

I’m interesting in the Zero Pigment Foundation but I do have some beef with Becca sometimes! Like remember the Becca Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer? I felt like that was a waste and a gimmick. Didn’t work for me at all! I had high hopes for it too! Boo! I think for me Becca excels at highlighters and blushes but I’m sort of meh on everything else they do! What about you? Are you a fan of their line?

Would you try a Zero Pigment Foundation or does this sound like primer to you?

Do share!

The foundation looks interesting, I wouldn’t mind trying it except that it’s matte and that can be drying, so no blind buy. I’ll be interested in reviews for it’s performance.

Very interesting idea. It’s up on Ulta and probably Sephora, so will check the ingredients. I know the HL gloss would be a no go, and probably the un-foundation as well. Yesterday, I used a sample of Josie Maran blush, and looked as if I’d been dumped out of a fryolator. Since all my s/c is at essence weight or lighter, you’d think I’d know better than to consider this. But we love something different, yes?

With wearing a mask every time I go out I do put primer on my shiny forehead so this is perfect for blurring the top half of the face. Not sure what this would do without any color other than blurring

This reminds me of the Garnier 5 second Blur that came out in…2014? I still have an unopened tube in my stash. I loved using it as a primer, and I went through a couple tubes until I stopped liking it for one reason or another. But literally this sounds like the exact same thing, a face “blur-er”, that probably will need several retouches throughout the day, depending on weather and your skin type.

While my acne is under control and I can skip the foundation, I’ll definitely try the zero pigment foundation. Last summer, I took the plunge and tried Becca Hydra Mist Set & Refresh powder with great results on my combination skin. It balanced out my skin and I could go longer between powder touch ups. Based on this experience, I’m hoping to have similar results with this Zero foundation. Plus, I like that it’s silicone free. I’ll be skipping the Face +Lip Glass Highlighter because it looks like a standard clear lip gloss marketed as lip gloss/highlighter hybrid. Just shows you how saturated the beauty market is that companies have to invent newish sounding names for essentially old products.

It actually is online at Ulta now. I saw this last night when I was browsing. I have to admit it definitely peaked my interest! I may have to just try it. . . Will you be taking the leap? If so, I may wait for your review. 😉

Wayne Goss just roasted this product on his youtube channel, I think it’s going to be a pass from me.

Mally Cosmetics had something similar. It looked tinted and there were different shades but it didn’t really have a lot of pigment. But it blurred. Skinn Cosmetics had one too that looked lavendar, but it created a beautiful matte finish. I kinda want to try this. Will probably wait to sample it, because it would be nice to conceal and place this one after.
