Good Morning! Time to wake up and wash your face! What’s your morning routine like? I take a lot more time washing my face in the evening versus the amount of work I put into it the morning. I’m typically a frat boy that washes my face in the shower with my Clarisonic. Fast, quick, easy. Typically the good cleansers, cleansing balms, and cleansing oils don’t come out until I start my PM routine. Weird right? How about you? Is your morning cleansing ritual fast or complicated?

No matter your routine, fast or slow, here’s a few new ways you can wash your face.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Peak summer here in Munich. Been dousing myself with liquid hand sanitizer. (That includes face.) Paula Begoun would be horrified!

        • Isabella Muse

Girl, I think you’re really harming your skin putting hand sanitizer on your face. It contains a lot of alcohol. Why are you doing that? I’m a germ-a-phobe but I think cleanser and water should remove any germs you want to get off!

          • MDW

True. Need to buy some gel ice packs. Safer way to keep cool.

          • Isabella Muse

you’re putting it on to keep cool? Yeah, I think ice packs might be a better idea or a fan? Hand sanitizer has like 65-80% alcohol that gonna to kill collagen in your face not to mention it’s going to make your skin very sensitive. Be careful!

I’ve been using a salicylic acid cleanser from Clinique since my skin has been breaking out so much lately. Maskne is real even though I change my mask daily. Ugh.

    • Isabella Muse

a lot of people have been experiencing maskne! :-/ Combination of the heat, mask, and breathing in such a small space.

Morning is minimal — a wash with Trader Joe’s All-in-One Cleanser (very gentle and non-drying if you haven’t tried it) and finished with a swipe of customized toner (half Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Cortas Rosewater and a tiny bit of organic glycerine) before make-up.

Thanks to you, Muse, now the make-up comes off at night with Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil (love it!), cleansed again with TJ’s, and swiped with toner before the Korean night cream routine begins.

Thanks again for all the great recommendations and reviews — please keep ’em comin’ and stay well!

    • Isabella Muse

Never tried the TJ! Will have to give it a go thanks for the rec Mary ;-D Awww so glad you like ’em <3!

        You’re so welcome!

Do try T.J.’s if you want an inexpensive gel, low-foam, fragrance-free cleanse. I didn’t find it drying after Palmer’s, and it doesn’t sting my skin or my eyes. (Not good for travel though because of the pump.) Good luck!
