Lorac Summer 2020 Finally Landed at Ulta But Does Anyone Care Anymore?

It feels like ages since Lorac started promoting their Summer 2020 Collection on Instagram and it’s just now available at Ulta. I’m so sorry but I find it so annoying when brands release on their website exclusively first. It drives me bonkers for some reason. They’ve been promoting Summer 2020 for well over a month now but I was never once tempted to purchase it from their website. I dunno why but I rebel at the idea of being forced to purchase something from just one location. Maybe I want to get points for my purchase from Ulta or I just want to haul other items when I haul Lorac. I dunno what it is but the fact that so many brands do this later drives me up a wall.

When you launch please just launch it everywhere the same time, the same date, and the same products. I don’t like the Easter Egg hunt of different launch dates, different places to buy it, and exclusive parts of a collection available at one retailer but not another. It’s all too much work. Please stop.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’m still in Lorac 2017 and do not like the revamp at all. Bet they hit Kohl’s before they hit Ulta. And yes, this ‘our site first’ annoys the wazoo out of me. Have some site exclusives, but all out at once.

Lorac was so much better in the early 2000s when it was still at Nordie’s and Sephora.

    • Isabella Muse

agreed. The same company that owns Wet n Wild now owns Lorac so it’s a bit on the iffy side formula wise!

Uh, really, that explains the quality of LORAC….

        • Isabella Muse

LOL! yeah they are now owned by Markwins parent company of Wnw, Color Workshop, Black Radiance, and a few other brands! I think Markwins purchased them about two years ago!

  • Ruqaiyah Syed Scruggs

Lol, you are hilarious! No one cares anymore but I’ll buy these when they hit the Nordstrom rack.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL 🙂 it’s sort of true though! It feels like everyone moved on from Summer already!

Such a bummer about Lorac. I wonder if we will ever see another Pro palette again!?

Do you realize that coronavirus has affected a lot of production/back end logistics for ULTA and brands aren’t able to launch everything at the same time during a global crisis? You shouldn’t ridicule a brand just because their retail partner couldn’t figure out how to get products online faster (remember, ulta closed for three months and still isn’t reopening in most states and now has to make up for lost spring sales). Now is the time to give brands the benefit of the doubt rather than drag them through the mud.

Indeed I do! I was in the epicenter of it all for three months here in New York. If you read my blog regularly you realize that my pet peeve is brands that release collections exclusively on their website or exclusive retailers. I find it frustrating. I’d rather do a one stop shop at somewhere like Ulta or Sephora versus having to go to the brand’s website to get what I need. This is cost efficient for the brand as they don’t have to go through a secondary retailer to sell their latest collections but irritating for consumers. I think this has less to do with COVID and more to do with the way launches happen nowadays. For example, Maybelline launches exclusively on Amazon before anywhere else and lately Physicians Formula’s latest collections are on their website first. Please educate yourself further on launches and how they are handled before you start snapping at me about ridiculing a brand and dragging them through the mud. I appreciate your comments and your opinion but sharing them in a friendly way is much appreciate and the adult way to handle a situation. Thanks.
