Bath and Body Works Vanilla Mocha Cafe Not Exactly A Coffee Fragrance
Bath and Body Works Vanilla Mocha Cafe is one of the new Signature Fall Farmhouse scents available for Fall 2020 in Fragrance Mist, bubble bath, body lotion, and more. My store had it out this weekend but some stores are launching this week and all the Fall 2020 Collection is available online!
I was pretty hyped to see Vanilla Mocha Cafe as one of the new scents this year. Don’t get me wrong I love me some Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte but I’m been waiting for a coffee fragrance from Bath and Body Works for ages! This sounded like something I’d love.
Ok, so, Bath and Body Works Vanilla Mocha Cafe falls into the realms of Britney Spears Private Show Perfume and Tone Blissful Body Caffeine and Vanilla Blossom Body Wash. I’m not saying they smell like these items but both of those items are not really true coffee fragrances and the same holds true for Vanilla Mocha Cafe.
The notes of cozy cappuccino, vanilla orchid and white tonka bean sound brilliant but I think the cappuccino never fully presents itself. I think I expected a creamy chocolate mixed with coffee as that’s what mocha smells like right? Instead this smells more like a fancy coffee drinks sans the coffee. At first mist there’s a hint of vanilla but it quickly disappears to make room for the orchid followed close behind by the tonka bean. Tonka adds warmth to the fragrance and a faint coziness but still coffee nor mocha never makes an appearance. As it dries down I smell a tiny bit of chocolate but it’s very faint. It reminds me a lot of that old Tone Body Wash! It’s oddly reminds me of coffee but doesn’t smell like coffee which I realize makes no sense but I do get that fancy Starbucks coffee but not coffee scent from this.
Would I buy it again? Yes, I like it and I’d buy it again IF….!
Big if here.
If they made it stronger.
This is a very, very light fragrance and you really have to pour it on to get any throw or linger from it. One or two mists results in very little fragrance. I find I have to go to town misting myself like 12-15 times to get the fragrance to actually show up and even at that point it’s still very light. It wears for a short time as well! Maybe one or two hours before disappearing.
I was disappointed it didn’t smell coffee but still liked it a lot none the less however, the weaker juice was the biggest disappointment of all.
Oh well!
Guess it’s back to Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte for me.
Have you tried Bath and Body Works Vanilla Mocha Cafe?
