Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray is a new scented setting spray available in three limited edition scents that launched with the Milani Fruit Fresh Summer 2020 Collection. I picked this up on a whim from Harmon’s recently for $7.99. I hate myself because I don’t really use setting mists all that much but the fragrance aspect really got me! Some people hate skincare with fragrance but I’m drawn to it for some reason or another.

I got the Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray in Dragon Fruit Peach as that was one of the scents that sounded the most appealing.

Here’s some thoughts on the scent!

Setting Mist isn’t a product I use often but it is a necessary evil when using powders or highlighters as it gives them a smoother, refined finish. This new version combines a lot of the same elements of the original Make It Last Setting Spray Prime + Correct + Set that launched with the Milani Spring 2017 Collection and brings some new ingredients as well as a fruity fragrance.

Whether you’re choosing the original Make It Last Setting Spray Prime + Correct + Set or the new Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray both are the same size and price. I got mine at Harmon’s at $7.99 and the bottle is 2.03 oz. Most retailers sell either the scented or original formula for $9.99. There was no price race or downsize for the new scented version thankfully. The ingreidents are mostly the same as well however, the scented formula contains a few ingredients the original does not like watermelon and peach extracts as well as castor oil.

Sadly, both versions contain alcohol denat (second ingredient) which accounts for the way it mattifies skin and soaks up access oil but if you’re not one for using alcohol in your skincare or makeup products this might be a big miss for you!

This is a fine mist spray so it doesn’t come blasting out and end up drenching your face and ruining your makeup. It sprays out in a fine mist and it sets within a few minutes of application. As it sets it does tighten slightly. That could be from the alcohol! It isn’t a dry feeling but just a slightly tight feeling. I didn’t feel like it messed up my makeup and it did refine the finish of my highlighter and gave it a smoother appearance. I’d say it did extend the wear of my makeup a little bit and it did keep oil at bay as although I am dry I tend to get oil down the sides of my nose and on my forehead in the Summer months.

As for the scent, well, that’s sort of debatable. It isn’t as strong as MAC’s scented setting sprays that’s for sure. I get a bit of peach initially on my first mist but as I continue I barely notice the scent at all! If you already have a full bottle of Make It Last Setting Spray already I wouldn’t go running to the store to purchase Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray as the scent is pretty weak and not something you need to spend money on unless you’re running low on your current setting mist.

Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray does indeed keep makeup fresher for longer however, if you’re expecting it to have a powerful fruity scent you may be disappointed.

Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray is available now.

Did you try it?

Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray is a new limited edition scented setting spray available in three fruity fragrances. This is a re-take on their original Make It Last Setting Spray Prime + Correct + Set mist with some fruit extracts added in to give it a light, fruity fragrance. The price and the size remains the same at 2.03 oz and $9.99 per a bottle (cheaper depending where you buy it). It does contain alcohol which accounts for it’s “mattifying” abilities and may make it a miss for anyone who avoids alcohol in their beauty products. I find it does a very good job of extending the wear of makeup and keeping it looking fresher longer. Not to mention it is a very fine mist spray so it doesn’t drench skin in a ton of unwanted moisture. It de-powders and refines the finish of highlighter so your makeup looks smoother and more refined. I got the Dragon Fruit Peach and I don’t think it’s something you need to race out and get as the scent was pretty weak. I could smell it at first mist but as I continued in my second and third mist I barely smelled anything at all! This is a nick pick up if you’re running low on setting mist but not a necessary one if you already have a full bottle sitting around!

Pros

  • Extends makeup wear.
  • Gives powders and highlighters a smoother, refined finish.
  • Fairly affordable.
  • Very fine mist.
  • Sets quickly.

Cons

  • Contains alcohol.
  • Not a strongly scented mist.

Who

Milani Fruit Fresh Make It Last Setting Spray is a great little setting mist to extend your makeup’s wear as long as you don’t mind the alcohol or the weaker scent

LOVE this setting spray! The Dragonfruit one is nice, too. I think Milani setting sprays are very good and affordable. It’s my HG setting spray, especially the original one and the matte version.

    How is the spray nozzle?

I ask because some reviews for the original Milani setting spray make it sound more like a stream than a mist?
