To Do: Makeup, Life, The Universe, Everything
Hey!
Happy Tuesday! How’s your life going this week? Zoom is crapping out but aside from that the week is shaping out ok aside from a few stressful work hits here and there.
Most New Yorkers are working from home still but I’m in office with a lot of safety measures in place. I’m only seeing clients by appointment, masks are required, and I had air purifiers installed recently as well as a plexiglass across desks. I literally feel like the boy in the plastic bubble over here but better safe than sorry.
I’m thankfully staying strong and not nearly as paranoid as I once was.
Are you still working from home or have you finally ventured out into the world?
If you’re still home I found one of the most important aspects of working from home was creating lists. I’m all about planning and to do lists. I have a list of cleaning that needs to be done, a list of groceries, a list of work things that need getting to, and a list of life things that need doing. I find comfort in lists and I feel like when I write something down I’m committed to completing the task. If I see something on my list that isn’t checked off I feel like I’m letting myself down so there’s def some pressure to complete things and not procrastinate about them! First rule of thumb when you’re home or even when you get home from work do NOT head for the couch to relax. Get the things done you know you really need to do and use that time on the couch or sitting at the computer playing a game or however you de-stress as a reward for the things you get done. Typically when I get home from work the first thing I like to do is check my house chores and get some or even all of them done. You’ve probably been privy to my Hinch list on Instastories if you follow me on Instagram. A clean home is a happy home. I admit I have indulged in not one but two Mrs Hinch’s Book of Lists and I own one of the Activity Books. I love Sophie to death and her little to do list books really help me to get all my cleaning chores done while reminding me what I need to do. You can always download an app as well on your iPhone to do the same exact thing but I find it very relaxing to write out my own lists.
I think makeup, yes, makeup, is also such an important part of normal life if you’re home. It’s tempting to sit around in pajamas all day but getting dressed like you normally would, wearing makeup, and just doing your normal AM routine can be very helpful keeping you upbeat and motivated for the day. Even if you don’t have a Zoom meeting do your makeup anyway! It’ll make you feel pretty and normal!
Don’t forget to make time for yourself. That’s always an important thing when your schedule is a bit bonkers. I really do fill up every single minute of my day with things to do whether it’s for pure joy or important business matters. I try to schedule every single minute of every single day. Life is so short I don’t want to waste any precious moments. Don’t forget to reward yourself! Even if it’s just sitting down to watch a bit of your favorite K-Drama or having a nice cuppa at the kitchen table. Take a moment to breath, enjoy, and of course, think up the next to do list you need to make 🙂
I hope if your life is chaotic right now I hope that things calm down for you soon and return to a more normal pace.
Stay strong out there.
Be good humans.
Be kind.
I believe in you!
