Bed Bath and Beyond plans on closing 63 of their stores in the next two years and the company has created a list of the first 63 stores that will be closing soon with plans to reveal the 137 other ations soon!
The company spokes woman Jessica Joyce gave a statement to USA Today stating, “As we rebuild our authority and establish a truly omni-always shopping experience for our customers, we recently announced a store optimization plan that will see us establish the right network of stores to serve our customers….”
“This is an important step in our multi-year program to create a sustainable, durable business and invest where it matters most to our digital-first customers and our people,” also stating that “an exciting array of customer-inspired owned brands” will launch in 2021.
I wonder what they mean about customer-inspired owned brands? Sounds like an Etsy thing…? That would be cool if I’m right! It really comes as no surprise they are closing so many stores as they’ve been struggling for years and as you know have cut back on coupons.
