My Self Care Hair Day Picks Are All Less Than $10 Each and You Need Them
For some odd reason or another hair has become a focus for me lately and is playing a major part in many of my self-care rituals! I’m not sure why I’ve become so obsessed with learning new hair styles or trying new shampoos and conditioners but here I am walking around with crown braids and doing deep conditioning masks after a long day at work. Don’t get me wrong I am still very much obsessed with makeup and skincare but hair seems like a new, exciting frontier.
My adventures led me to a new line of hair care called Hairitage that’s available at Walmart. I was asked to do a sponsored post by Walmart a few months ago and they asked me to check out some new brands and post what I thought. This actually worked out perfectly for me because I was all into hair and here was a new hair care brand to check out! I ordered a bunch of stuff online at on Walmart’s website but several weeks later I ended up hauling even more stuff because I just love this line so much!
I have to admit one of the things I love the most about it is the scent. Someone needs to tell them to do a perfume because I’d buy it. I’ve watched and read a few reviews that didn’t love the scent as they felt it was a more mature fragrance but as I’m a girl who loves scents like Lush Ginger this was so my jam! It’s difficult to explain how it smells but it’s sort of a fresh floral with a twang.
If you haven’t been to Walmart lately do stop by their Mindful Beauty section! They have a huge assortment of brands that feature clean ingredients and many new brands that are exclusive to Walmart. Several years ago “green, clean beauty”
Let’s take a look at a few more of my favorites from this brand!
Hairitage has a rather sweet backstory! It was created my mommy youTuber, Mindy Mcknight who has a bi-racial family. As a family of eight Mindy deals with a diverse range of needs and textures. She wanted a line of products that everyone in her entire family could use so she set out to make a line that would do just that. I personally have longer, wavy hair that’s a bit dry and can be frizzy and Hairitage’s thicker, creamier formulas are perfect for me. I found the line very hydrating not to mention that amazing smell!
Let’s get into some of my favorites!
First up with have the Hairitage Ahead of the Curl Curl Creme which is a lightweight, quick to absorb cream that adds defines my curls and leaves them soft without leaving them stiff. As you may know from some of my past posts I’ve been doing a lot of braids lately and curling cream is my best friend to get slick, well defined braids! This little gem can be used when I’m doing braids or when I want my curls to look soft and lovely!
As a testimony to how much I love Hairitage Light As A Feather Leave in Conditioner I have since the end of March purchased three bottles of this! Yes, three! It’s part of my after shower routine! I mist it onto my wet hair, put my hair in a towel, get dressed, and comb through my hair after and presto! Soft, manageable curls! One bottle even lives in my office washroom as I admit I do mist it on for a touch of scent throughout the day!
Next up we have Hairitage Fixed on You Edge Control Hair Gel which I hate the packaging on! I’d much rather have a squeeze tube to be honest but I’m getting used to the idea of having my gel in a jar. I use a spatula to remove it from the jar which makes it a little less messy! This stuff isn’t for everyone to be honest as it is a bit sticky and does leave some crunchiness behind but when you need your hair to stay put or you just want to scrunch your hair into some sort of order this works a treat. I actually use this often because I tend to slick my hair back as you know and if I don’t use some sort of gel my hair just frizzes up around my head in a halo of little baby curls.
Moving on to hydration and hair cleansing Hairitage has a great deep conditioning mask and conditioner! Two of my favs are the Hairitage SOS Deep Moisture and Restore Conditioner and Hairitage Mask-querade Transforming Hair Mask. The deep mask is becoming addicting! I really don’t need to use this often but I wish I could just use it daily. This is a thick, creamy mask that’s applied to damp hair. I typically use in the evenings when I’m using one of my Lush bubble bars or bath bombs. I’ll wet my hair, apply the mask, and sink into the bath and read or just listen to music (have you every listened to the soundtrack from Pride and Prejudice with your ears underwater! It’s divine haha…! Weird bathing ritual for you there!). I leave this on for about twenty minutes before I rinse it out. It leaves my hair so smooth and completely frizz-free! The SOS Deep Moisture and Restore Conditioner is great on the daily! It’s a great one for after shampoo! I typically apply it and run a wide tooth comb through my hair while in the shower and leave it on for a few minutes while I shave. This one leaves my curls touchable and soft!
Hairitage has become a major part of my self-care hair care routine. I love this line and I’ll be featuring more detailed reviews on it soon!
Do you use it?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
The best part is that the entire line is priced at $7.97 making it a very affordable treat yo’self hair care pick!
