Sephora Holiday Savings Event 2020 Coming October 30th But It’s Not That Exciting

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The Sephora Holiday Savings Event 2020 starts October 30th and although we don’t yet have a coupon code at least the dates are available so we can start saving our pennies to indulge. As always the event gets Rouge Members 20% Off, VIB 15% Off, and BI 10% Off.

The dates for the Sephora Holiday Savings Event 2020 are:

  • Sephora Rouge 20% Off October 30th thru November 9th
  • Sephora VIB 15% Off November 3rd thru November 9th
  • Sephora BI 10% Off November 5th thru November 9th

The coupon code can be used as many times as you like both online at sephora.com and of course, in stores as well as Sephora at JCPenny locations.

Sadly, this is an event that hasn’t aged well! I recall Sephora’s Holiday Savings Event as being one of the most highly anticipated event of the year but a lot has changed and in some cases you can get bigger discounts from the actual brands themselves. For example, BIs saving 10% at Sephora is really not a huge deal when they can score 20% or more on major brands if they are patient enough to wait for Black Friday deals to roll in! Likewise, for VIB members who only get 15% off.

20% Off is a good deal on higher end luxury fragrances and skincare but a lot of people have lost their Rouge status because they are shopping elsewhere like Ulta as they prefer the cash rewards versus Sephora’s point system that isn’t very rewarding.

As always I will feature recommendation posts but there will be a lot of sales and good deals as we progress deeper into the Holiday season so the Sephora Holiday Savings Event isn’t exactly as exciting as it used to be!

I do think people are very patiently waiting for the Ulta 20% Off though! That should be soon! I imagine it might hit before Sephora’s event but we’ll have to wait and see!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

And per usual Rouge shops first and the good stuff will sell out before VIB and Insiders can shop, like Nordstrom’s anniversary sale with their tiered program. VIB used to get 20% off too and now it sucks the last two or three years to just get 15% off. I was Rouge for two years and it didn’t make sense to keep spending so much to maintain Rouge status yearly just to save much less money on the sales (spending a lot to save a little) and the perks weren’t great either. My beauty routine is much more minimalist and streamlined now too, so I don’t want to buy as much as before anyway. Yes, you can save more money when brands have sales on their own websites especially on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I will lose my Rouge status after December and I don’t even care. Ulta is the way to go.

We were patiently waiting for Ulta to open in Canada this year but it was delayed due to the pandemic. This would have sent Sephora a big message here as Ulta doesn’t ship to Canada any more. Hopefully they will go ahead and open at least one up because I won’t hesitate to spend my money elsewhere.

Yes to all of the above. Somehow S/LMVH doesn’t get it that consumers now find their rewards, etc offensive. When S first opened stateside, it WAS a unique experience. Unique brands, no Dept store duplication, etc. Now, there is nothing distinctive about Sephora. A mall store like any other. And it insults us, to boot. Ciao Bella, Rouge.

I have left the VIB program last year and I don’t care. I feel like I can get 20% or higher from Ulta and also from the brands themselves.

Why is Ulta better? Serious question. I am so disappointed In the lack of 20% off coupons that I use to receive a few times a year. I would stock up on premium hair products, skincare, and makeup. I get that the money is a great perk, but why no discounts?

cash rewards makes it a lot better. Their point system results on way better cash back benefits compared to Sephora. And yes, the lack of coupons does suck 🙁 but I suspect they’ll be on soon!

When you reach Diamond/Platinum there are some really good gifts. Last year I got a card in the mail for a free full size foundation from Clinique. if I remember correctly there were several options but I went with Clinique. Things like that just make it more appealing. And they have more variety, honestly. Drugstore and higher end products.
