3 stars out of 5

Bite Beauty Agave + Lip Tint Tin is a new limited edition version of Bite Beauty’s Agave Intensive Vegan Lip Mask. These little moisturizing tints were released in five shade selections with the Bite Beauty Holiday 2020 Collection.

As a germ-a-phobe I can relate to anyone screaming “WHY!?” at the screen right now. I mean, the original Agave Lip Mask comes in a convenient, no touch squeeze tube did we really need a version in a tin?
I guess Bite Beauty said yes, on that and gave the good ahead for this launch.

Here’s the deets!

Bite Beauty Agave + Lip Tint Tin arrives in a small 0.35 oz decorative tin. I just popped it next to an eyeshadow for size comparison! It’s pretty cute and tiny. It’s priced at a very affordable $14 and when you compare it to the original Agave Lip Mask it is quite a deal. The Lip Mask is 0.52 oz and $26 making the Lip Tint Tin quite a nice size and price.

Unfortunately, the formulas are vastly different. Where as the Lip Masks contains a variety of fruit oils and butters the Lip Tint Tin more emollient fillers that act like glycerin to add moisture to your lips.

Both products do have a similar textures though! This is a very thick formula and has a texture that resembles Vaseline. It does melt down as you apply it as initially it feels very thick and odd on lips but as you smooth it on it thins out a bit and provides a nice protective layer of moisture and a hint of tint. Some reviews I read said it wasn’t moisturizing at all but I beg to differ. I think it provides excellent moisture. It is a heavy lip treatment making itself very known on lips. I didn’t feel it was sticky nor tacky but as I said it is heavy. I only got one shade which was Buzzed. It isn’t terribly pigmented but it did give my lips a nice hint of tint and it does have a fine gold shimmer that does show up on my lips! This does have a flavor but I actually can’t tell what it is I’m tasting here. It’s sort of caramel, citrus, vanilla, and coconut all mixed up. I didn’t really love the flavor in all honesty.

Bite Beauty Agave + Lip Tint Tin Swatches (Buzzed)

Bite Beauty Agave + Lip Tint Tin has some perks. I think the formula is very moisturizing however, I think the packaging and the flavor had me second guessing my purchase. The price is just right as well but overall, this one was one of those things I probably wouldn’t buy again! I guess it’s good that it’s limited edition right?

Where to buy

Sephora

Bite Beauty Agave + Lip Tint Tin is a new, limited edition version of the Agave Lip Mask that launched in several shades for Holiday 2020. The texture of this balm is similar to the Lip Mask with a thicker, Vaseline-like consistency. It provides a nice hint of think in a heavier formula that leaves lips quite hydrated. I wasn’t impressed with the flavor that was some sort of caramel, citrus, vanilla, coconut flavor. I think the packaging will be a big factor in whether people buy this or not especially if you’re a germ-a-phobe.

Pros

  • Nice hint of tint.
  • Moisturizing!
  • Affordable.

Cons

  • Weird flavor.
  • Poor packaging makes it difficult to apply on the run (no one wants to dip there finger into any makeup right now with COVID on the loose or any other time really even without COVID!).

Who

Bite Beauty Agave + Lip Tint Tin might be a good pick up for drier lips if you don’t mind the flavor and packaging!

Thanks for reviewing these! I was a huuuge Bite Beauty fan before they discontinued everything and changed their brand (I’ve been disappointed by their reformulations so far) so I was super tempted to get this during the Sephora sale. But I couldn’t think of a time when I would actually use this. I’m probably a germaphobe, but especially now with Covid I would never use this while outside the house! And while working during the day I’m at the computer – I don’t see myself using my finger to apply balm and then getting up to wash it off so it doesn’t get all over my keyboard? It just seems like a poorly thought out product design to me *shrug*. But I guess I’m still curious enough to have looked up lip applicators on Amazon… so maybe if it is really on sale after the holidays I’ll give it a try! haha

Agreed 100%! I felt for sure they would relaunch lipsticks in the Spring but Covid happened and I dunno…! I just don’t love where the brand has gone! I used one of those lip spatulas to scoop this out but I agree, it’s dumb having it in a tin 😛

Glad you reviewed this! I’ve been considering this (that exact color too!) and some of the reviews I’ve read have been all over the place. I think I’ll wait and see if it maybe goes on clearance later

In order to make it vegan, I was told they changed the original formula of the mask( in the tube). I’ve read reviews that its not as good as the original. I have a couple backups of the original. Its the only “balm” I can put on my lips at night and its still there in the morning.

I heard the same! I have two old tubes so haven’t yet tried the new one! : (

I do want to try this . I liked their old lip masks and balm . Looks like a really nice lip moisturizer.
