It’s the review you’ve all been waiting for but never knew you needed! My review of the Finishing Touch Flawless Brows Eyebrow Hair Remover is finally here! You might remember when the pandemic started I had purchased one of these. You know what? It was sort of hard finding one in stock at the time! I guess with all the salon lockdowns everyone was like “Imma buy one of these Finishing Touch Flawless Brows Eyebrow Hair Removers and do my brows at home!” I know I had that mentality because my brows were out of CONTROL! They did grow into one single brow and I did look like the caveman from the Geico commercials (worst).

Finishing Touch Flawless Brows Eyebrow Hair Remover Review seemed like the solution at the time. Here was a little epilator pen that promised to gently remove stray hairs while shaping my brows! Yes, this would totally make me look like a normal person again!

Buh-bye caveman brows!

Uh yeah, so, it didn’t quite work out that way.

I paid $20 at Target and eagerly awaited my package. At the time I was really being super careful what I purchased online as I didn’t want to contribute to making things harder for essential workers but I really did feel like this was essential item. My brows were just a carnage! It was uni-brow glam all day, every day.

I was pretty confident that I could easily whisk away stray hairs and shape my brows with this pen but nope, that didn’t happen.

So, as you can see this is designed like a pen. It has an on and off switch and takes one AA battery to operate. It also has a handy light at the tip making it easy to see the hairs on your brows. The shape, the design, it’s all flawless and a very good idea. It’s just when you actually use it that things don’t turn out so great.

You can’t just sweep this across your brows and expect it to pick up stray hairs. You actually have to move it around your brow bone and upper brow area in small circles. I have a lot of real estate above my brows which should have made this easy to do but for some reason I couldn’t master the smaller circles it needed to work. When I finally did master the method it wasn’t actually removing any hair. I would go over the same area several times and I’d feel a slight pinch but the hair was still there. I dunno if this was because my brows were overgrown AF or if the machine just didn’t work so, I smartly ordered another one and had it shipped to my best friends house. He isn’t nearly as hair as I am in the brow area and I felt like he needed to tested it out to see if it worked for him better than it did for me. We were swapping boxes of snacks and goodies back and fourth all during the pandemic so this felt like a good excuse to pay it forward for his last gift to me and also, to get his thoughts on how this work.

I have bushy brows as we all know that are prone to growing into a unibrow. He has perfect arches and thinner brows. We hopped on FaceTime, compared brows, and went to work. I had a excess hair at the brow bone that needed to be shaped and he had a small bit of stray hairs that could have been easily plucked version using this pen but we needed to see how it worked. I tried the smaller circles and it literally didn’t pick up a single hair. Next we tried him! He proceeded to do a bigger circle (which terrified me as I was concerned he’d splice off part of his outer brow) and still it didn’t pick up any hair. Ok, so, it wasn’t only me experiencing the problem!

Next we headed online to read the reviews. Turns out we aren’t really alone. Some people love it but others felt like it didn’t pick up any hair at all! According to most people you need to go over the same area a few times to see anything removed. I personally did that and so did he but we didn’t notice any change! I swear I’m not giving up on this year. I’ve been trying since April to get it work because I feel like it’s a nice maintenance tool! I mean, even if COVID wasn’t raging around us it feels like this would be handy between waxing or threading just to pick up stray hairs! I wish I could get it to work for me!

Sadly, until now the Finishing Touch Flawless Brows Eyebrow Hair Remover just isn’t doing anything.

Do you have one of these?

Does it work for you?

Ok, I have wiry brow hairs, so I’m guessing it’s a no go for me, too, but did you try it on your upper lip? I’m wondering if it would be a quick way to take care of my ‘stache.

    • Isabella Muse

I have the other one for your face and actually love that one. I use it on my upper lip no problems 🙂 This version wouldn’t be good for upper lip though!

I have this and like it! It works for my “normal” brows…they aren’t sparse or thick. I use the little circle method. It’s not as painless as I thought I’d be, it reminds me of tweezing. It takes a few passes to completely clear the hair. I’ve definitely taken too much off haha so I’ll more careful with it now, and use tweezers afterward to grab tiny hairs left behind.

I’m glad it worked for you! SUCCESS! Sadly, it was a no go for me and my bestie. I even had my sis buy one to try and she didn’t quite get it either sadly. It needs to be a bit stronger for me. It doesn’t seem to grasp any of my hair at all 🙁

I got this when you got yours and hated it. I ended up trashing it. It did nothing!

glad I’m not alone! I thought I was maybe somehow using it wrong!

I have this. I have found the trick is I have to tilt it to a 45 degree angle before the blade will catch any hair. When I have the energy to spend 15 minutes, which is too long for me, it does a decent job in my brows. I find it most useful for the few coarse hairs I have at the corners of my mouth. I would not buy it again.

    • Isabella Muse

Hmm! I’ll try that tonight and see if it works for me thanks Jami!

I used the finishing touch facial trimmer thing for my brows. That worked well. I also ordered straight dermaplane type razors from Amazon. They were super sharp. Japanese blades. Those worked great too. I’m so thankful I can get my brows threaded again.

I have this and I like it. I have sparse brows but tend to get random stray hairs outside the brow line. I also have peach fuzz above my brows. It works for me using a back and forth motion like an eraser. I’m not sure it would be that great if you have a lot of brow hair to remove but it works for my purposes.

    • Isabella Muse

Hey Patty! Glad it worked for you! I just have major bushy brows and def was a no go 🙁

  • Karen

    Hi
    Love your blog !

I may be wrong but I do not think this is advertised as an epilation tool – to me epilation means “plucking ” hair.

To me this is a very small razor – it shaves away the surface hair.

For me it does shave facial hair away.

    thanks

    • Isabella Muse

Hi thanks Karen so glad you enjoy the blog! To me it feels like it plucks them versus shaving them! Sadly either way didn’t quite work out for me 🙁 I’m glad it worked for you!!!!!!!

  • Mary

I got it when you posted about it several months ago and you’re right didn’t work!

  • Sian Browne

Didn’t work for me either, pretty much like most of the JML products I’ve purchased before! Very dissapointed and will never purchase any JML products again … total waste of money.

  • Gina Lo

I purchased this at the beginning of Covid19. Not for necessity, because I usually wax and pluck my own brows, but for convenience. However it DID NOT work as advertised. Ugh! I literally had to go over it 10+ times! I repackaged it wanting to return it but Covid was full blown in my area so it sat on my counter for several months. I decided to try it again and this time my results were even worse. So I opened the tip and found tons of hair! Gross, right?! I cleaned it out and it worked like the first time, which wasnt great but due to the pandemic, I kept it. I dont make circles while using it. I actually go in a back and forth motion. If you can get passed the repetitiveness its ok.

    • Isabella Muse

Aww sorry Gina! Totally understand how you feel as I did the same! I purchased during COVID and it just didn’t work out great. Sadly, this isn’t something that can replace waxing or threading!

  • THERESA THOMPSON

I too was excited to try it .The idea and design was really good but it did not remove one single brow hair in fact it wouldnt even remove peach fuzz so I wasted $20 because I have a really bad habit of losing receipts and never returning tems that are disappointing.wish I had read your review BEFORE I bought it.
