Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Duo Blush in Buzz Kill is another knock ’em out of the ballgame picks from the brand! This is one of three new split pan highlighter blush duos that launched for Fall 2020. You may be very familiar with the Digital Dust do thanks to be raving on and on and on about the shade Genesis. Genesis is a must have in my opinion and Buzz Kill is as well!

Here’s why.

Technically speaking Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Duos are actually split down the middle with two highlighters but I like to think of them as highlighter blush duos. One side totally has enough pigment to act as a blush and the other a highlighter (or in some cases the shades run a bit darker and can be used as a bronzer). If you love luminous, glittery blushes I’d say Buzz Kill is an easy pick up! The shade does remind me of Genesis a tiny bit but it’s a bit more orange-y in comparison!

As with the single shades of Digital Dust this is $39 and holds 0.24 oz of powder. There is a difference in the size unfortunately. The original single Digital Dust range hold 0.28 oz at $39 so they are a bit bigger at the same price. None the less, I’m not even a little mad at that because this formula and finish is amazing.

The new duos come in a light brown compact with a little bee graving the Melt emblem. Inside you’ll find a generously sized mirror with a honeycomb boarder and another bee decorating the mirror. It’s a really cute design especially when you get to the honeycomb and been embossing on the powder. Best part? That embossing doesn’t disappear once you swiped your brush in it a few times! It actually holds strong. The packaging is just darling and sort of gave me Guerlain vibes as Guerlain favors a bee design on many of their skincare and niche fragrances.

Buzz Kill is definitely my favorite shade of the three shades I picked up! I’ll tell you more about the other shades in another review! This is a firm powder that isn’t powdery but my brush picks up color easily. It applies like a dream and blends out to a seamless finish that doesn’t adhere to my drier cheeks. It’s smooth with a gorgeous luminosity. I found the beautiful golden apricot shade was best as a blush and the lighter shade made a great a highlighter. You can easily use the shades together or separately as the pan is plenty big enough to use each shade individually without mixing them!

Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Duo Blush Swatches (Left Side Swatch, Right Side Swatch, Last Two Swatches are shades mixed together)

I’m just in lust with the color. It’s gorgeous! There is a bit of a glitteriness to the finish but I find buffing it out will get you more of a luminous glow and less of that glittery finish. It’s all about blending it well. It lasts for a solid eight hours on me without losing the beautiful glow and color.

This a keeper and gets my highest approval and recommendation. If you love golden peachy shades this is a good pick. The color is gorgeous and quite unique!

Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Duo Blush in Buzz Kill is one of three new split pan highlighter blush compacts that launched for Fall 2020. This compact is a little smaller in size compared to the original single shade Digital Dust pans at 0.24 oz compared to 0.28 but the price is the same at $39. Although created as a highlighter I still think of it as a blush/highlighter duo because it’s pigmented enough to act as a blush. The color Buzz Kill is a gorgeous golden apricot with a orange undertone and a light golden tan highlighter. Both shades are pigmented and have a smooth, easy application with a pretty luminosity however, this shade can look glittery so blending and buffing out is the best bet to get the glow without the glitter. The shade wears for eight solid hours without losing color or glow!

Pros

  • Gorgeous color!
  • Smooth finish with a gorgeous luminosity!
  • Works as a highlighter or a blush.

Cons
