Hi! I’ve Been MIA but I’m Over Here Checking On Your Mental Health Today

What’s the story morning glory?

How you doing over there? Sorry about missing posts the last two days. I have a lot of comments to get through (and dms and emails) and I’m slowly working through them! Well, it’s almost a month into 2021 and I’m not sure a lot has changed but it’s a brand new day and we’re about to embark on a new and important journey today. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Today is going to be a good day!

How you holding up? Feeling good?

I’m great thankfully. I have my health which really is everything lately thanks to how unsure COVID has made us feel about something as simple as being and staying healthy! I’m working hard as always! Not a day goes by that I’m not pushing myself to do this and get that done and schedule this and make sure I do this! If I’m not pushing myself I feel like I’m not accomplishing things! The only thing that bugs me is I’m so freaking tired by 10PM. I’m typically a night owl but I swear I hit the sheets by 10 lately and I’m out. I normally wake up at 4:45AM everyday but I am so not a morning person and I really gotta drag myself out of the bed to get my work out in and start work on the blog. But I swear going to bed at 10 def makes things a lot more easier!

I have a lot of reviews upcoming because Spring is here and Spring means new makeup! I know, I know the masks are killing our lipstick and lipgloss game. But you know me! I’m totally rearranging my pantry wearing the a super shiny lipgloss and Mimi’s best eyeshadow look!

I know it’s hard to be upbeat right now. At least here in New York things seem so chaotic. The vaccine thing is not going well and cases are pretty high but like all things in life we have to keep fighting the good fight and keep calm and carry on. I mean, when you’re reading stuff like “COVID was found in ice cream!” it’s a little hard not to panic and lose your sh*t! But remember, good hitchhikers don’t panic!

I swear the first minute they tell me it’s safe I’m headed to the UK and getting the biggest chip butty I can get my hands on. I’ve been going hard on the Peloton I think I deserve a greasy chip sandwich 😀

But most important of all is how are you? I hope you’re keeping busy. I hope you’re safe and healthy. I hope you’re holding up mentally because all this quarantining can be hard on extroverts (and introverts for that matter!). Remember to keep yourself busy and try not to watch too much news.

I’m over here being your cheerleader if you need me! Picking you up when you fall! Making you laugh when you’re frowning!

I know you got this.

Hang in there friends and be the best humans you can be!

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Today, I’m GREAT! Feeling hopeful for the first time in years. Stay well, stay safe, and I’ll meet you in the UK! It’s our vacation destination as soon as possible too! Scotch eggs for the win!

    • Isabella Muse

Yay! I’m glad to hear it. Stay great! And yes, pack your bags, have them ready! I miss traveling so so much! UK first, California second, and France after that ;-D World road trip! It’s been a minute since I’ve been to England and it feels TOO long!

I’ve been struggling lately, tbh. I feel like all I do is work. And I have to go in to work everyday when so many in my organization (and others I know) get to stay home all the time or at least some of the time. My skin is dry in the mask area and on my hands; I’ve got a few patches of eczema that are really itchy on my hand and face plus maskne. Plus, I’m still worried about my family and don’t know when any of us will get shots. Ugh…I’m a mess.

    • Isabella Muse

Aw Kim! Hang in there! It sucks that you are headed into work daily and others aren’t! That stinks! Do they have different job than what you are doing? My hands are a bit dry too! I’ve been creaming them to death. I think a lot of has to do with the fact we are washing them so often! You can cream them up well and wear gloves to bed to restore moisture! Def helps 🙂 And get some hyaluronic acid into your skincare diet as soon as possible 🙂 I gave up on the vaccine. I tried to get my parents scheduled for one but all booked until April and they don’t even have enough shots to go around. Just try to tell them to be safe and stay in when possible.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it means so much to all of your readers ❤️.

I’m great today! Not to be pollyanish and I know it’s going to take time to turn things around….but I feel hopeful for the first time in four years. Will be glad when the vaccine situation is figured out. My parents are in their late 80s and still can’t get theirs yet. But they will at some point.

And I put on a full face of makeup and pearl earrings today. Even some lipstick!
    Hope you are doing well!

    • Isabella Muse

I’m glad Dee 🙂 You deserve to be great everyday! You’re such a sweetheart! I always look forward to your comments! There’s definitely more hope today 🙂 Things are going to change right away but I’m some sense of relief today and I have hope things will return to normal! I couldn’t get my parents on either unfortunately. I started logging in the day it was announced for 65 and over but everything was booked until April almost within an hour of the site going live. It’s crazy! But they are home and safe! My dad calls me daily moaning about cabin fever but at least I know they are both quarantining and keep safe! Sounds good to me ;-D Makeup and pearl earrings makes everything better! I am great! Busy which means I’m terrific! I feed off busy energy!

Doing okay over here, the whole vaccine roll out is a mess over here too. I’m trying to get my dad vaccinated and not having a lot of luck. I don’t qualify yet with the tiers so I’ll wait my turn which is fine.

I’m looking forward to more reviews I have Sephora gift card I want to use and I’m not sure what I want to get. Your reviews always point me in the right direction!

    • Isabella Muse

I don’t qualify either but as soon as they opened up enrollments for 65+ I started logging into the website and calling a variety of places for my parents but nada until April but we won’t get that far because Cuomo says they’ll run out within the next two to three days. Chaos! Aw thanks Melissa that means the world to me <3! I have the Juicy Palette coming today!

      • Melissa

Yeah I know how that goes and it’s frustrating.
Oh that’s exciting new palette! The newest one I have is the UD Naked Honey palette.

        • Isabella Muse

Very! But we just gotta keep chugging along 🙂 Did you like the Naked Honey?

          • Melissa

I didn’t think I would like it but I really do. There are a couple of colors that I’m not crazy about but for the price it’s a good palette.

          • Isabella Muse

the performance is a little iffy but I have to admit I loved mine!

After watching the lady leaders yesterday, I am going to wear purple decorative masks over my N95 mask. N95 are mandatory, required in Munich now. But a medical style mask over it is an aesthetic improvement. Also been looping extra elastic around the ear loops so the mask connects around neck, back of head. That way I can drop it down if need be and pop it back up again.

Muse, we have the same eyes. But I wish my eyebrows were like yours. I wonder if we were Szgany in our past lives?

    • Isabella Muse

I started doing this with some of my decorative masks. I pop a good mask on and I put my decorative mask on top of it 🙂 You can have my brows if you want them! I HATE them with a passion! haha maybe! We call them cigana in Portuguese 😀

      • kjh

Me, too, with the double masking. But i have to change the standard elastic strap to the small tubular stretchy one that is on standard US surgical. Say hi to the Englisher Garten from me. When i lived at home 100 years ago, i had a map of Munchen on the inside of my closet door. Szgany as in Zigeuner?

        • MDW

          Yes, the Romani.

Shishipupu Kaufhof is open now but only by appt. Where a menacing Frau will say, “Was wollen Sie!”

Huge and Double is open again too but oh my that place was severely downscaled even before the lockdown.

Kustermann’s is completely open as well but also severely downscaled.
