Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath is a new fresh floral fragrance with notes of soap bubble accord, rose, white musk, and coconut milk. This launched a few weeks ago for the Spring 2021 season and becomes part of Replica’s permanent line of fragrances.

Replica Bubble Bath is inspired by relaxing in a warm hot bath with fluffy bubbles. It gives off clean, fresh, spa-like vibes with it’s soft, delicate notes! As you know from my past Replica reviews the brand specializes in scent memories. Their fragrances are meant to evoke a good memory or feeling. I think scent is such a powerful way to evoke memories. Your first kiss, your wedding day, memories of your mom, they are all linked to some sort of fragrance or scent. Replica specializes in scent memories.

This time around I don’t think there’s a memory attached to Replica Bubble Bath but more a sensation or a feeling. That feeling is the one of sinking into a warm bath and enjoying a moment of tranquil peace. I’m a shower person but my guilty pleasure at the end of a long day is sinking into a warm bubble bath. I love when it’s cold outside and I can hear the breeze outside my bathroom window while I sit in the tub (even better if it is raining outside and I can hear the rain hitting the window). I’ll play the soundtrack to Pride & Prejudice and when Liz at the Top of the World comes on I’ll sink into the water until my ears are covered in water, close my eyes, and listen to the piano as it reaches that perfect peak.

Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath is all about self care and self pampering! A moment stolen out of the day to close your eyes and relax.

Last year (and maybe this year too) we discovered self care. We learned to take better care of our minds, our bodies, and our skin. As a New Yorker I am always rushing! If you think the New York Minute is some sort of urban legend think again! In New York we want it right now, immediately, ASAP. I work in a stressful environment and everyone, EVERYONE, wants things in a New York Minute. Not to mention we are always doing something. Running to meet people, running to work, brunching, racing to some activity, going out, never cooking, always running around and being busy. In 2020, I learned what it was like, for the first time in my life, to take it easy and slow the hell down. Even when I’m on vacation I’m always running around doing something. 2020 taught me how to relax and take it easy. I learned new things, I spent more time with the person I love, I took time out to indulge in the things I wanted to do but never had the time to do, and I spent a lot of time pampering my skin, my hair, and my body.

Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath brings me back to how I learned to take better care of my mind and my body and most importantly how to relax and just chill out! When I first heard about it I was like Oooo I wonder if it’ll smell like Mr Bubble! My juvenile mind just went there! But no, that’s not what this smells like. This is like a day at the spa. It’s clean, soft, feminine, delicate, and very pretty. I wouldn’t call it a traditional soapy bubble bath scent but more a spa day scent with it’s notes of rose, jasmine, and lavender notes.

On opening I get a clean, fresh hit of bergamot with z soft, delicate soap-y note. The soap note is very difficult to describe but it does give off clean cotton scent vibes or fresh linen ones. As it settles onto skin you’ll get hit with a beautiful white musk-like note mixed with roses, jasmine, and dare I say am I smelling freesia? Yes, that’s freesia in the background and it brightens up and adds a little bit of playfulness to the other more serious floral notes. I don’t get coconut at all here! As it dries down the soap and white musk remain giving that fresh, clean cotton vibe I was describing above. It’s smells like your favorite t-shirt just out of the dryer! I can see why they would call this unisex as I think it would smell very sexy on a man!

It’s a very spa-like fragrance that’s relaxing and soothing. It wears close to the skin but has a bit of a projection that those closest to you will be able to smell. My body chemistry does suck it up quickly so I need to reapply it after about three hours.

All in all, Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath is a keeper for me. I do so love gourmands but this scent is gorgeous not to mention it reminds me to close my eyes, breath in, breath out, and remind myself that the universe will right itself one day soon.

Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath is available now.

I’ve had this in my basket for a couple weeks. I think I’m going to go ahead and spring for it! The self care aspect is so important. I feel like it’s been up, work, workout during my break, back to work, check in with my husband who is helping with distance learning and our young Padawan, quick dinner (while working a double shift at home) then bed.

I think many of us are learning to slow down, enjoy the down time when we have it and appreciate the small moments we used to rush through, tune out or miss completely.

Thanks for your honest review, I appreciate it, as always!!

I liked it! It’s a shorter wear for me but I found it very soothing and clean! It’s a nice work safe scent! Isn’t it though? You just really need to take care of your mind and make sure you’re in a good head space not to mention your body too because we are just sitting around so much more and not being out and about as much as we once were! I’m up at 4:45AM, get my work out in, and buckle in for my work day. I def feel like I’m relaxing a lot more though and I’m not tightly wound up and stressed as much as I used to be. It’s not always easy! You have a child and that’s a lot of work in and of itself! I give parents, moms especially a ton of credit that they work plus make time for their kids! So true! I hope when things go back to normal we remember to enjoy those small moments and remember to breath! ;-D Aw my pleasure! I hope you like it as much I do!

You might be a candidate while visiting California, for a comment made to me while at UCSB. ‘You’re like a 78 record in a 33 town!’ Great expression, except no one knows from record speeds anymore. Not living at ambient speed really makes you stick out.

I like this scent; it’s very clean. However, on me it turns musky as soon as it dries down. I prefer the way it smells sprayed in the air more so than on me 🙁

aww sorry! My keeps the clean notes and I smell the musk but that’s very clean too!

I went to Sephora to check it out when I first heard about it and fell in love! 2 people that worked there hadn’t even heard of it and when they smelled it they swooned 🙂 I get a lot of compliments when I wear this as well.

I had to send it back. All I could pick up is the coconut (I hate coconut scents). I applied it before bed and ended up taking a shower about an hour later! I guess I should stick to my old standby, “Kai”.
