I Mean, I’d Be Happy If MAC Re-Released Paints But New Paint Pot Shades Are Welcome As Well

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

MAC Paint Pot shades available for Spring 2021 in a variety of new shades for $23 each and will be part of MAC’s permanent collection! Interestingly enough these got an early launch at Ulta.com but are not yet available anywhere else including from MAC directly.

I do so wish they’d bring back MAC Paints. I didn’t think I’d miss them as much as I do but here I am several years after they have been discontinued yearning for them and thinking about the fact I never gave them enough love when I did own them.

I’ll make do with MAC Paint Pots though! There are some very nice shades available in this launch not to mention some are matte which makes them a great pick to use as a base.

New Shades:

  • Current Affair
  • Bougie
  • Born To Beam
  • Black Mirror
  • Ultaviolet
  • Silver Screen
  • Currant Affair
  • Brick-A-Brac
  • Moss Definitely
  • Babe In Charms
  • Lets Skate!
  • Contemplative State
  • Tailor Grey
  • Its Fabstract
  • Princess Cut
  • Peachy

The new MAC Paint Pots for Spring 2021 are available now!

Please PLEASE try the new Smashbox paints — they are an exact dupe for the Mac ones. I bought them in every color I love them so much. I went back to the paint pot for a primer and it seems dry to me. Probably because I’m so in love with my Smashbox paints. Try them!

will do 🙂 they have been on my list since they launched! Any good matte shades in the round?

YES!!!! They don’t feel heavy or thick like a paint pot. They are super easy to blend and they feel like literally nothing on your eye but great pigment. I use about the size of a pin head — it’ll last me forever because I was really sad about those Mac paints being gone!

PBI, but can you link to them? I’ve tried navigating SB’s website for 7 minutes and no matter what I click on, it takes me back to the homepage…>:( I would love to see the SB paints, cos I loved the MAC ones too – if these are dupes for MAC (at least formula wise) I’d be over the moon!

      Thanks!

Are we talking the Smashbox Always On Cream Eyeshadow?
I got one in Ochre, which is not a color that I would ever pick but I wanted something different.
      It IS wonderful.
Fully pigmented, but easy to apply. I start at the lash line (with a Mac #252 brush) & then pull it up through the crease & fade it out.
Maybe take it under the lower lashes, too.
I do want all of the colors now!

I hate to be one of THOSE people that claim the re-makes are never as good as the originals, but…here we go.
The original Paints were awesome & I used them all of the time.
The original Paint Pots were, to me, interchangeable with the Fluidlines. Pigmented, easy to apply, would wear all day.
Then they introduced newer ones that were more creamy & sheer. Which is fine if that is what you are looking for, but not for me.
So if these are fully pigmented & long wearing I would be very happy!
If they are creamy & sheer out when you apply them, there are better options out there.

Honestly aside from the base shade I use I haven’t really purchased PP in a while but knowing how EL cheapens everything up this comes it doesn’t surprise me AT all!

Hi Isabella. Hope you’re well. Thank you, as always for your daily dose of ca-ching!
For your Canadian subscribers, these Mac Paint Pots are NOT available in Canada, other than their standard eye shadow primer! How crazy is that? An original Canadian company, which, for some reason, doesn’t want the rest of us to enjoy cream shadows from them, ha!
    All the best.

I see the beautiful colors.. and the list underneath- can you tell me what the two ‘orangey’ colors are – the last one on the bottom 2 rows? thanks!
