5 stars out of 5

Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Icy Sherbet Primer ($20) is a new, silcone-free face primer with a cooling effect. This is seriously one of the most interesting face primers I’ve had the pleasure of using. It actually has the consistency of a silcone primer but it has no silicones! Magic!

I love it!

Here’s why.

Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Icy Sherbet Primer arrives in a 1.05 oz jar and will set you back $20 bucks. According to the brand it’s a silky, fine-tuned finish facial primer with a fresh sherbet-like texture that provides hydration and a cooling effect. The texture reminds me a thicker version of Smashbox Photo Finish which deeply concerned me when I first opened the jar as I don’t like silicone primers! They just aren’t a fit for my drier skin plus they feel uncomfortable to me and make me itchy. Imagine my surprise opening the jar and thinking damn this looks like a really heavy silicone primer. Surprise, surprise it’s not.

Note: My arm swatches are a bit hard to see! Sorry! It was difficult to get it to show up!

It doesn’t really have a sorbet-texture but more a thicker balm-like consistency. A little does go a long way with this! It has the same feel and texture of any silicone primer but once you start applying it and it hits your skin it sort of melts down and absorbs instantly with a very cool, refreshing feel! And after that the real magic happens…..it instantly smooths skin! You want glass skin? Flawless, smooth, pore-less? This is your primer! I don’t have visible pores but I could instantly see how it created a smooth, even surface on my skin! I looked like I had an Instagram filter on my face! It was just so smooth and perfect. Not to mention it created a nice layer around my skin that foundation sit on top of perfectly. And it actually made my foundation wear so much longer and helped it look fresh like I just applied it. Amazing!

For sensitive users it does have a light fresh scent but nothing crazy and once applied it does disappear.

Overall, Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Icy Sherbet Primer is a tiny beauty miracle in a jar. If flawless skin is your main goal in your beauty life this will help you get it.

Highly recommended!

What makes it cool? I really don’t get the concept/family of cooling ingredients. And if it cools, I assume that’s bad. Is it? (Says the person formerly addicted to HE alcohol/menthol toners, lol.) I’m not nuts about the fragrance ingredients. I suspect the geraniol, linalool, etc. are volatile oils that are extracted from natural substances, used in EVERYTHING, and could be sensitizing. The color is excellent! Obviously, we still have a way to go in learning about ingredients. (And always will.)

Okay, I’m sold. I wonder how it would do over my mineral sunscreen…..

    • Isabella Muse

I would. It’s not heavy and it provides light moisture that isn’t shiny or greasy!

        • Isabella Muse

you enjoy your weekend too and my pleasure! Let me know what you think if you try it!

Darn! I JUST bought the NYX Bare With Me Primer (because I wanted a dupe for the Milk Makeup one that I LOVE…but boycotting the company right now till they get their act right …) otherwise this sounds amazing!
I also HATE primers with silicone. The overly slick feel and long term drying effects are not for me. Does your skin feel dry by end of day with this one? Does it wash off fairly easily?

    • Isabella Muse

No dryness thankfully and it comes off very easily 😀 the new ELF btw is good too if you like that Milk tacky but moisturizing feel!

      • Jennifer F

Oh, you mean the ELF watermelon pink one in the tube?! I’ve been trying to get my hands on that one. Sounds like it might be discontinued…? That’s why I ended up with the NYX one. If ELF one comes back, I’ll pick it up. I LOVE your reco’s!!

        • Isabella Muse

No, that’s an old one 🙂 that have a new mint version! It’s in a green tube! It’s cool mint melt cooling primer! Aw thank you <3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • Jennifer F

What?! Mint is even BETTER than watermelon in my books!!!
            !
            Thank you!

          • Isabella Muse

Yeah! I actually like the mint one a lot 😀 my pleasure!

This is my favorite brand of primers–haven’t met one from them that I haven’t liked. Can’t wait to try this one.

  • Nancy M

I LOVE THIS PRIMER!!! It goes on super smooth and I can instantly see the imperfections blur. It looks no residue and my make up stays on my super oily skin. It makes my skin look so much better. The hundreds of other primers I’ve tried have never made me feel this good about a primer. Its worth every penny and I’m so thankful for your review!

  • Denise

I completely agree with your review. After using this once, I’m in love. The texture of it reminds ME of Creme Shoppe Hello Kitty Pink Water Creme, which I’m in love with. That is a moisturizer though. Same concept though, as that almost melts into your skin, too.

    • Isabella Muse

I never tried that! I’ll have to pick it up! Ulta just started carrying Creme Shoppe too!
