SPF Recommendations to Haul During the Sephora Spring Savings Event

I am forever always an avid fan and user of Japanese sunscreens! Sometimes it feels like nothing can replace my beloved Allie and Biore but I admit I do cheat from time to time. For example, I tend to use SkinCeuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50 when I’m outside for longer periods of time. It’s a liquid formula that absorbs easily and provides excellent protection against the sun’s harmful rays!

I thought I’d compile a list of some sunscreens to haul during the Sephora Spring Savings Event that starts on Friday for Rouge Members!

Paula’s Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 $26 After Discount
DO buy this if you like liquid formulas that absorb easily. This was created for normal and combo skin but I use and love it. It absorbs fast, doesn’t leave a white cast, and wears well under makeup!

Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Cream SPF 50+ Face Sunscreen $32 After Discount
One of my ride or die’s! I’ve used this for years and it’s never failed me. It’s pretty thick but it absorbs easily and wears very well under makeup! It’s also water friendly so I tend to reach for it often in the Summer or pack it when I’m traveling!

Farmacy Green Defense Daily Mineral Sunscreen $29 After Discount
It’s no secret I’m a lover of Farmacy. Their skincare just works well for me including this sunscreen. This doesn’t have a super high level of protection but it’s a nice daily sunscreen and particularly a good pick if you’re allergic to physical sunscreens. It does leave a white cast but after it fully absorbs that disappears!

Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Cream $20 After Discount
Clinique’s sunscreens typically have a very solid formula. This one is one I’ve used for quite a long time now. It is thick so be prepared but creamy and does absorb within several seconds. It leaves skin nicely hydrated!

Josie Argan Argan Daily Moisturizer Tinted SPF 47 Protect + Perfect $29 After Discount
Another ride or die for me! I’ve been using this forever and a day. The color is perfect for me and provides a nice bit tint that brightens my complexion out and leaves my skin looking fresh. It’s one of my favorite tinted moisturizers and has the added benefit of sun protection too! (Note: The photo below is old and says SPF 40! The formula was revised a few years ago for higher protection of 47!)

Josie Maran Pure & Simple Argan Skincare Ritual 8

Tarte SEA Set & Protect Mineral Sunscreen Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $22 After Discount
Reapplying SPF is a hassle. I RARELY reapply a cream or liquid SPF if I’m not on vacation. It’s simply too difficult to apply a cream foundation when you wear makeup! That’s why little mineral sunscreen powers like this one from Tarte are awesome. Just pressed the button and an transparent protective sunscreen powder can be dusted on your face to provide protection on the go! This isn’t something I’d used as my main sun protection but it is an essential in my makeup bag for when my sunscreen has worn off and I need to touch up without making a mess!

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Hydrating Moisturizer SPF 45 $42 After Discount
For the drier skin girls and guy this broad-spectrum SPF 45 sunscreen hydrates as it protects!

Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 $12 After Discount
Not one of Innisfree’s highest level of protections but definately a solid offering! Creamy yet liquid-y this SPF absorbs in a snap and wears like a dream under makeup!

What are some of your fav sunscreens?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I also really like the Farmacy one, but I liked it’s earlier name, Green Screen. I preferred the old version of the Josie Marian one when it was spf 40. Looks like a good line up you’ve got listed, muse!

Tatcha’s! It’s pricey, but it has *never* broken me out (in acne or dermatitis) and plays well with moisturizer and makeup. Absorbs faster than you’d think, given how thick it is, too.

You forgot Supergoop unseen sunscreen. It’s my all time favorite. I love Asian sunscreen, but it all has alcohol in it, so my dry skin can’t tolerate it. Supergoop is the best non-Asian sunscreen I’ve ever found. Ride of die.

    • Isabella Muse

yeah the alcohol is def a buzz kill 🙁 You’re right I did! Unseen is an excellent one 😀

I have not! Can you believe it? As I do so love the brand! Gotta get on that!

  • Catherine

Thanks for this post! I have been looking for a new sunscreen. Hope you have a great day!

    • Isabella Muse

Yay! My pleasure you have a gorgeous day too Catherine!

I love the Unseen Sunscreen by Supergoop. But I am always on the lookout for a new one particularly if it wears well under makeup. I am going to try your Paula’s Choice and Tarte recommendation. I’ve always wanted to try one of the powder ones to reapply during the day.

The click over for the Paula screen just spins. Looking at the S site, it’s not on the Paula page. Maybe it’s sold out and will be back for the sale.
