Urban Decay Singles $10 And I’m Sort of Sad

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Don’t forget Urban Decay Singles (old packaging) are $10 at urbandecay.com! No code needed, the discount is already showing up! I guess they are doing away with these as most of the stock at Ulta and Sephora is gone and replaced with the new range that has a clear casing. This is truly the end of an era moment for UD. The new packaging is really basic. I know when Urban Decay relaunched their entire line of eyeshadows several years ago many people weren’t keen on the new casing but lord knows it’s 100% better than the clear casing they are in now. UD is known for being edgy and the best way they though to package the new singles is in a basic, clear case? How sad.

Anyway, snag your favorites for $10 each before they disappear forever!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

I remember when UD packaged its lipsticks in cases that looked like shotgun shells! I shot trap for ages so I thought that was really cool! Yah, UD has gone all bland and safe on us… Sad, I agree.

I prefer the new packaging, but I’m not really Urban Decay’s target audience, either (Don’t hate me, Muse! Edgy” makeup ceased to be interesting to me around the time that Hard Candy left Nordstrom). Oddly, it looks like Estée Lauder’s 2004-ish single eyeshadow. They were introducing and revamping their Pure Color singles seemingly every other year for a while there.

I did like the UD silver packaging; it reminded me of the mid to late 1990s’ “homemade” makeup years. I guess they’re done now, really rather sadly given that the tin look could have been made eco-friendly very easily!

It really is a shame, I feel like the old packaging was actually pretty clever since you could EASILY pop them in and out of their single case into the palette and vice versa.

Very sad! Those clear cases look like 70’s Maybelline eyeshadow cases, they are just missing the sponge applicator! And discontinuing my HG glitter eyeshadow for years, Midnight Cowboy? That’s just a disgrace.

I’ll miss the old subway tokens too . I do like Lucid though, it was one of the new shadows . I do need to pick it up as I just saw a tester at my local Sephora .

I’m old school when it comes to eyeshadow color preference and I had to pick up shades pistol and rockstar before they’re gone forever. With the exception of few shades, the packaging and color selection of the new revamped UD shades leaves a lot to be desired. Because I prefer to apply eyeshadows with a brush, I prefer the old school eyeshadow formula (Naked 1 and Naked 2 formula). I find it annoying to go back and forth between using a finger and a brush to do an eye look. A finger should be just another tool that’s used to apply an eyeshadow. If it becomes THE ONLY tool to make a shadow work, it means that there’s a problem with the quality of an eyeshadow.
