Could I Wear That Tweed White Chanel Tunic If I Weren’t 5 Feet Tall? Probably Not!

I started my day with a green t-shirt, some leggings, and a jean jacket but I had a meeting today and I put on black cuffed pants, a lace bralette, a black suit jacket, and black converse and mistakenly looked at Chriselle Lim’s Instagram account before heading to my meeting. Head desk. Why did I do that? She’s on there wearing that stunning Chanel Tweed White Tunic that launched with the Spring/Summer 2021 Collection (not the Cruise Collection which was gag!). She also, has an Tiktok of herself wearing it and she looks a m a z i n g! That tunic was made for her body. Now I feel like a frump! Let me go hide in a corner! Ha 😀

Ugh…! I do wish I was tall and super slim. That tunic is made for a body type that’s tall! I’m still over here struggling with the leggings situation, people! there’s no way I’m wearing a tunic that long without it dragging all over the floor!

No one remembers us little humans in the fashion world! I’m browsing maxi dresses right now for Summer and every single one I’ve seen so far is way too long for me. Anyone have access to the same mushrooms Alice did to make her taller?

But seriously, this is your daily reminder to just embrace the yourself. Tall, short, skinny, fluffy, love yourself no matter what.

I may need a step stool to get to the high shelves in the kitchen and the pantry but screw it!

It’s true that you have to be yourself because everyone else is taken….!

One exception…

If you’re offered the chance to be Batman.

Always be Batman.

Or, I mean, if some crossroads demon offers you a chance to be Chriselle Lim in a white Chanel Tunic totally take advantage and do it!

I’m kidding. Just be you and love every version of yourself!

Have a good day all you beautiful people.

I’ll be back later as I gotta write an e-mail to Chanel about the challenges short humans face on the daily. ;-D

I have a confession. I actually own this, I’m 5’8, and it’s still long on me!

    • Isabella Muse

STHU! Oh my god! Can I come over and wear it sometime? LOL!

  • Lisa

I love this tunic and I could probably wear it as I’m not short but cringe on that price!

    • Isabella Muse

I know…! If it makes you feel better I think hers was a part of a press sample!

  • Christal

I’d wear the hell out of that if I wasn’t plump and short!

  • Selena

I actually hated the entire Spring/Summer and Cruise Collection!

    • Isabella Muse

I hated Cruise too. I thought it was awful but Spring/Summer is very pretty! I’m sorry you hated it 🙁

It’s even overly long on that model. Me thinks the black vertical lines make this tunic possible for lots of people. It kind of looks like wide flair pants.

I tend to go for optical illusion effects on the clothes I wear. And I will declare to my dying days that leggings are acceptable formal wear if worn with anklet boots and tops that are long enough to pass for mini dresses.

I would like to wear flat shoes but I am five feet tall too and the social struggle is real.

    • Isabella Muse

IT DOES right? That was the only thing that made me feel better about it! Haha! Girl….stop with the leggings as formal wear haha…! I’d never! Leggings are life but I don’t take it that far ;-D I wear flats anyway. meh…! I’m the girl that wears high top sneakers with a fancy dress ;-D

I’d have to chop about 6″ off the legs and the proportion would be all wrong. Then there’s the bodice section. Long enough waisted? Yup. Plunging neckline and sides? Hell, no. My breasts don’t sit on my lap, but they are sidewalk bound. Leaning over? Turning, twisting? Fall out city. And not nubile fall out city either. Dramatic and beautiful, yup. I see the garment as being great for 5′ 10″ and over. Those people who can’t get X outfit, because they’re all too short. It seems the designers have literal model figures in mind.

psftttttttt! 6 inches? More like a foot it looks like. She has it on in a tiktok video and from what I saw she doesn’t have a bra on but I think she has tape in place and it actually worked! She was doing cartwheels in it, literally cartwheels, and you do see breast but she never completely flashed a boob. I was impressed! I’m almost 99% sure she has tape on though! I swear not once did a breast pop out. I can guarantee if I taped my breasts they’d still fall out all over the place LOL! I can hardly keep them in my vneck t short never mind this tunic! 5’10-11 for sure…! Eh, I don’t think 5 feet is on Chanel’s radar sadly!

I follow “rich mom” too! And I saw her in that tunic! Amazing!

I felt this. I’m 4′ 11″ and I’m always admiring clothes (especially jeans!) on taller women. It drives me crazy that most petite models are 5′ 4″ so petite clothes won’t even look like the same on me.
That is a gorgeous, stunning tunic! Sometimes I fall in love with a design well-knowing it’s not made for my body. Wear it anyway if it makes you happy or means something special!
(and, hey, we’ve got short powers, too. We can get away with mini skirts and bralettes as tops!)

    • Isabella Muse

🙁 I feel you truly I do! I just can’t wear most fashions because short…..!!!! HA truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally wear bralettes as a top!

  • Mariele Storm

Honestly, if I saw anyone out and about wearing that, I feel like I’d have a perpetual Sophia Loren side eye, all for the same reason she had the side eye. Yikes.

    • MDW

Yes, that Jayne Mansfield dress. And the rest of the time at the party, she kept leaning forward. Couldn’t even see the dress because she kept putting her milkbar on display.
