5 stars out of 5

Nivea UV Deep Protect & Care Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ is new Japanese sunscreen that promoted that formulated to protect skin against signs of photo-aging causes by UV rays such as age spots. It’s a water and sweat proof formula that’s a water based formula that does contain alcohol.

This is an excellent pick for those that love the original Biore UV Aqua Watery Essence! It has a gel cream formula that absorbs easily and doesn’t create a white cast on skin.

Let’s take a look!

Nivea UV Deep Protect & Care Essence SPF 50 comes in a squeeze tube that’s 1.7 oz in size and retails for around $10 bucks in Japan but most retailers are the internet have it at around $12-$14 which isn’t too bad a price markup. This is formulated with older skin in mind as it’s meant to protect against signs of aging and prevents freckles and age spots. I have neither of those issues personally but I’m always looking for protection to keep my skin looking great.

As I said above if you love the old Biore formula this is pretty much the same thing. It’s cream gel that absorbs very easily into skin with absolutely zero white cast! Skin does remain a bit dewy initially but it sets within a minute and gives a smooth, lightly hydrated surface for you to apply makeup on! It’s not sticky, nor greasy, nor shiny! It is however, a bit drying for drier skin since it contains alcohol. We had the AC on a few days ago and I was wearing this and I noticed that my skin felt a bit tight….! Since my skin gets a bit more combo in the warmer weather I’m sure it’ll be fine but if you’re one that avoids alcohol in your SPF or skincare you probably shouldn’t turn to Japanese sunscreens for protection as 99.9% of them have alcohol. For sensitive users this has a floral fruity fragrance that was quite subtle but worth mentioning.

It’s water based with caprylyl methicone that aids in moisturizing and helping skin retain moisture however, in my experience the alcohol will make skin a tiny bit tight and dry feeling in certain conditions. Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate or octyl methoxycinnamate as the main filter for protecting skin UVB rays and Tinosorb which protects UVA and UVB rays as well as Polysilicone-15 aka PARSOL SLX which is a silicone-based UV-B absorber. The formula is promoted for both body and face and promises sweat and waterproof protection. I have some doubt about it being waterproof.

I have hopes this sticks around for a while as I will repurchase it. I like it a lot better than the new Biore UV Aqua Rich Light Up Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ that I recently reviewed. The texture and consistency are just to my liking with the very lightweight formula and I adore it doesn’t leave behind a terrible white cast.

All in all, an excellent SPF that provides nice protection from the sun!

Nivea UV Deep Protect & Care Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ is new Japanese sunscreen that recently launched in Japan. This is formulated a lot like the old Biore Watery Essence which might make it an eas buy for those that enjoyed that formula. The cream gel texture absorbs easily, leaves no white cast, and is promoted for both body and face use. It takes a few seconds to absorb as initially it is dewy but it sets to a very smooth, lightly hydrating finish. I did experience some dryness from it when I was in a cooler room (AC on) due to the alcohol content. It contains some excellent filters such as Tinosorb and octyl methoxycinnamate as well as PARSOL SLX.

Fun! I love trying new things. I just hate that all these amazing products are overseas only. It takes forever to get here. I don’t understand why the overseas market doesn’t think we would like these products too? Ask any beauty junkie and the answer would be yes to carrying the same products!

Sometimes it’s an ingredient thing which sucks : (

Well, going to pick this one up too, then! It’s been a while since I’ve tried Nivea’s sunscreens. I liked them, but I wanted a heavy-duty one for our summers, and I know that Anessa and Allie are stronger in that area. I think the gel creams are overall less tenacious than the milks if you’re looking for sweatproof, but these are great for everyday.

I rarely purchase the Nivea ones but I got curious about this after seeing a Korean blogger talking about it. Def like it a lot! I agree! The milks are def better for longer days moments in the sun!

I like the sound of this product but shipping to Canada is prohibitive. I wish this wasn’t the case as many retailers are this way! Maybe it will show up in stores here eventually
