The Tale of MAC Black Mirror Paint Pot and An Uber Eats Estee Lauder Partnership

Uber Eats and Estee Lauder partnered up to start delivering makeup and beauty to your door with same day delivery recently. I slammed the service on Instagram a few short weeks ago because I felt like it was ridiculous and in some ways I still do. Living in New York I pretty much have easy access to just about everything I need and it’s no great chore just going to the store to picking up what I need. I also have really great success with both Sephora and Ulta and getting my packages very quickly if I order online.

Estee Lauder recently announced that they would be partnering with Uber Eats to allow quick deliver of Jo Malone and Origins. Why they limited it to those brands is beyond me! Apparently during the soft launch that will be all they offer and if they see good results they’ll add more brands. Honestly? Jo Malone and Origins are the two brands I’d likely never need immediately. This feels destined to fail if that’s what they decide to test this market with.

Anyway, click, buy, and pickup curbside has become a standard way of living during the pandemic. Everyone from Lowes to Cheesecake Factory to Nordstrom has curbside available! But what if it’s late and you just don’t want to drive to pick up that item your inner makeup addict demands it needs to satisfy it’s need for instant gratification?

Yesterday, I got this intense need to pick up MAC Black Mirror Paint Pot after seeing someone on Tiktok use it as a base for black eyeshadow. People, when the hell have I done a smoky eye in the last year? Really now? But the makeup addict wants what the makeup wants! So, I headed onto Nordstrom.com clicked, purchased, and drove over to pick it up after work. I actually hauled a lot of the new Spring 2021 matte shades but Black Mirror just passed by my radar because I knew I’d rarely use it! But I felt compelled to do some sort of sultry eye look with it suddenly. This is one of those moments I’d probably totally do an Uber Eats for makeup! I sort of hate Nordy’s curbside as they say it’s ready and you head over but you’re idling in the car for a while before they bring it out and I’m one of those un-aggressive people that will patiently wait and not bother anyone to ask after the order.

Uber Eats would be quicker and easier!

So, yeah, maybe…maybe…I’d use Uber Eats to order up some makeup in the future.

Would you?

P.S. You need to go buy Black Mirror now so we can smear this all over our eyes to make ourselves look seggy!

I’ll have to check to see if Uber Eats will deliver makeup to me. I love Jo Malone perfume but doubt I’d ever need it in a rush. Unfortunately, Nordstrom is not very close to me (just the Rack).

I believe they said it’s available in twenty cities right now and expanding to more soon! I don’t really need Jo Malone in a rush either and not really a hardcore origins user either! We have a few Nordy’s around here so it’s easy enough to just curbside it!

It’s probably for those who don’t have such easy access as we do living in the big metro areas. Who knows! I never do curbside pick-up with Nordstrom. I don’t like waiting, so I’ll just go in and grab whatever I need right away. Done! Instant gratification!

Lucky for me I never wear smoky looks, so I don’t need any black shadow. But when I do, I use to use my black gel liners.

I had my pjs bottoms on last night so I did curbside lol! No way was I walking through nordstrom with pink pjs that have little ducks on them! I’m positive security would kick me out lol!

Ah, see, I would never leave my house with PJs on. LOL! What if someone saw me leaving my house on my way to my car? I’d be horrified!

        • Isabella Muse

I’m cool, private driveway no one will see lol! But it does pass my mind that if I were an accident god forbid, people would have to see me. Horror!

I see people in pjs every day. Not just wee ones or teens. The wee ones are prepped for bed and the teens have something ironic on top with matching pink Ugg boots. Men with pjs featuring hunters and game animals. Or tartans. Or boats. Or classic cars. Women tend to stick with their Lululemons that look like a wet suit. Boomers wore stockings/pantyhose and white gloves to the city, way BITD. None sounds real appropriate. I fess up to going out in a caftan.

I totally will wear them in the car to go to the drive thru or curbside but never outside of it! I’d feel silly if I did lol but you’re right a lot of people run around in pjs and uggs!

What is a caftan after all but just a even more maximalist maxi dress? If they were good enough for Elizabeth Taylor and Mrs Roper, they are good enough for me.
