Dolly Parton’s Makeup Includes a Bunch of Maybelline and This One Product That’s Still Sold But Not in Stores

Every wondered about Dolly Parton’s makeup routine? I mean, the woman is as a national a treasure as Betty White is lately. I’m not much of a country music kind of girl but Dolly’s as cute as a button! What’s not to love?

She recently interviewed in a news article that….

Wait, for it.

Deep breath now.

She sleeps in her makeup.

Dolly, girl, what are you talking about?

You can’t do that!

“I usually try to keep my makeup on at night,” she said. “Because I never know if theres going to be an earthquake or a tornado or a storm and Im going to have to go out in the middle of the night!” Ok, facts but still….sleeping in your makeup is never a good idea.

I actually really like the part of this article that says she touches up with “a lot of Maybelline products” but doesn’t actually name which ones. We see you Dolly and we respect you for not feeding us a ton of sponsored BS.

She did mention that her all time favorite product is….

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

The much beloved and somewhat gone but not forgotten Max Factor’s Pan Stik.

I know where you buy it Dolly.

Max Factor moved out of US market in 2006 and the original Pan Stick was replaced with Facefinity All Day Matte Panstik which is available in a slew of shades. If you’re yearning for yesterday year though it’s still sold at Vermont County Store. I picture Dolly browsing through the Vermont Country Store Catalog and picking up her vintage makeup from them.

At the moment it’s actually sold out and I’m not really sure who would want it since it only comes in three shades and the matte finish is likely dry AF but I know it’s a formula that has a special place in makeup lover’s hearts. So, now you know, the original Max Factor Pan Stick is alive and kicking and Dolly loves it still!

Haha!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Nah, I think she has it flown in from the UK. By the box or something absurd like that in the way that mega wealthy people can make all sorts of bizarre purchases.

I love Dolly so much. Her quotes just crack me up.

aw man you killed that image of her sitting in bed shopping from the Vermont Country store catalog lol! Agreed! Some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth is adorable!

      • Jane

Oh she totally buys from Vermont Country Catalog! Probably the aluminum glasses and Mosser glassware. Not that I myself am a Vermont Country connoisseur or anything.

        • Isabella Muse

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL no you aren’t, not at all, I mean everyone knows about Mosser glassware, you don’t have to be a Vermont Country store connoisseur to know about that!

Hmm, sleeping with false eyelashes on could get messy by morning.

I love Dolly but I don’t think I’ll be taking makeup advice from her. Seriously, they need to bring that Pan Stick back already. I never tried it but it is iconic at this point.

It’s still sold abroad – the original version, that is. I got one recently from EBay. I think LookFantastic has Max Factor also.

        • Isabella Muse

the original? I know the new version is available in the UK. Is the original version available in several shades? Curious minds!

          • Eraser

Yes, I got it in a shade that’s been around for years. I haven’t checked their website recently, though. I can’t imagine they’d get rid of such a star product like Panstik and Creme Puff.

It’s actually gone from their website. They replaced it with the newer Facefinity All Day Matte Panstik. That’s why I thought it was curious about the original being still available. Maybe in other European countries?

Okay, I just looked – the international and UK sites are only listing the new one, and judging by the reviews, everyone hates it and wants the original back. Could be a New Coke situation… I also checked the Italy site since that’s the only other language I understand and they have both versions, with the original in the shades I remember.

I was in 2018 and didn’t come across the original that’s why I was like hmm! How did I miss it? Interesting that Italy even has it!

This brings back memories of high school. Pan Stick was the first foundation I ever used in 1964-65.

I used to LOVE benefit play sticks! Totally a retro moment 🙂

My mom (who will be gone ten years in October) loved Pan Stik and I have a couple of half used tubes in a box of things I couldn’t bear to part with. She also loved orange lipstick and her last purchase was MAC’s Morange.

I’m sorry Linda but you have some lovely makeup memories of her 🙂 That’s so sweet!
