Dude, dude, dude…!

Remember in like middle school it was fascinating to swap purses with your friends and go through the contents? Or was that only me…! I remember I also LOVED to go through my sister’s purse. She always had fascinating things inside her purse.

Here’s all the sordid little secrets hiding in my purchase!

Feel free to share the contents of yours.

Let’s see…!

My purse is actually a rainbow Betsey Johnson backpack today because I’m working from home and the only place I had to be today was an early morning yoga session.

There’s a copy of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Vol. 11 which released way back in May but I keep carrying around with me in the hopes I can actually read through it at some point.

My wallet obviously with my ID, medical card, and some cash (I’m not one of those people that doesn’t carry around cash! I feel a bit more secure having cash on me just in case). I also have a contact card in case I get lost! I’m kidding, no, I’m serious I can get lost in my own house..no, I’m kidding..my dad always said it’s a good idea to keep a little card with emergency contact info somewhere on your person. I have my medical ID set up on my phone with emergency contacts but I also keep a little card tucked in my purse god forbid I’m in an accident (or I get lost haha). I don’t really use credit cards and my debit card is on my phone so, don’t need to carry that stuff around.

I keep Star Wars plasters/band-aids on me because I’m accident prone. I also keep tissues, floss, a Wisp toothbrush, a battery pack for my phone, and my charger handy.

I keep Lano Everywhere Multi-Cream on me for my hands and Lano Lemonaid Lip Treatment for my lips!

Lanolips Lano All-Over Everywhere Multi-Cream 5

I also keep Ofra’s Banana Powder on me with a little brush. I don’t reapply concealer during the day but I have been known to apply a light layer of this powder my eyes to freshen up my face.

That’s basically it!

Since the weather is warmer I’m packing lighter lately as a lot of makeup can get melted and gross in this kind of heat. I keep my makeup bag pretty light in the Summer months.

What’s inside your bag?

Wallet, phone, keys, hair clip, multiple lip products (SPF balm, gloss, lipstick, warm and cool-toned options), tissues, sunglasses, Purell, hand lotion, blotting sheets, blotting powder, nail files (nail break! gasp!), spare contact lens, sunglasses, migraine medicine…Basically anything my OCD self anticipates needing. (And yes, the bag I carry is big!)

    • Isabella Muse

Oh HOW can I forget the huge bottle of purrell I carry everywhere haha!

  • Dee

I remember loving when my friends and I would go through each others’ purses! Sometimes we would even trade purses for a month and that was the best.
I don’t have anything exciting in my purse but after having three kids I still carry around anything you might need in case of an emergency.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL i never traded but we’d all go through each other stuff all the time! It was exciting seeing what someone had inside their purcase!

  • Merideth

I am so glad to hear that you and your friends looked through each other’s purses. My junior high friends and I did that and called it “purse inspection.” My mother thought it was weird.

I still carry most of the same things I did then (wallet, purse kleenex, nail file, Cover Girl compact, lip balm, pens) but I don’t carry a little notepad anymore, I’ve switched aspirin for Advil, and I’ve added a lipstick-size phone charger, reading glasses, and masks!

    • Isabella Muse

LOL omg it isn’t weird. We did it all the time! It was so fun! I forgot my masks are def in my bag too ;-D And of course, a notepad! Why I carry one around is beyond me!

Nars Laguna lipstick, sanitizing wipes, keys, skinfix hand lotion, a migrastick,
wallet with ID and an info card. I actually got my purse back that way when I lost it in San Diego once! The person who found saw the card and called my mom, who called me (cell phone was not in purse) and arranged to meet me to return it. I’m so thankful for that person! My partner was shocked that I lost my purse because it goes everywhere with me, and happy that I got it back.

    • Isabella Muse

does it work? The migrastick…! I got such a horrible headache back in Feb I couldn’t drive. I had to wait in my card until it passed. I was all vomit-y with it. I almost had to call my BF to pick me up it was so bad! OMG that’s amazing! That’s a rare thing to happen! What a nice person!

      • Mel

Yes the Migratick works really well, mine has peppermint and lavender in it and I bought it at a local health food store called Clark’s. But Amazon has different versions of them too. Yeah the person who returned my purse was an angel!

        • Isabella Muse

Thanks! Gonna try it! Truly! That’s so rare! I once left my behind in a dressing room omg mad dash to find it! Thankfully it was still there but I get a sick feeling in my tummy if I didn’t make it back in time as I doubt anyone would have returned it 🙁 You got very lucky!

          • Mel

Yeah I’ve done that too and was lucky it wasn’t gone. I hope some version of the Migrastick helps you. It stinks to not be able to drive because of a headache.

          • Isabella Muse

Oh wow! It hit me hard. I literally felt like I had to throw up! I get a headache here and there but that was a big one!

I love this! I don’t know why but I love having a nose at what women carry around in their handbags (as we call it here in the UK – a purse is what we keep our money and cards in, haha!) (I like all the different words btw). I even have a Pinterest board called ‘inside handbags’! I’m always trying to reduce the amount of crap I carry around, to save my poor back… I have one of those handbag organiser things as I like to section stuff 🙂 Although I do also have one of those mesh bags with a zip along the top to put little things in, so I can see through the mesh when I want to find something – that contains a pen & tiny notepad (in case my phone breaks), packet of wet wipes, phone charger & cable, safety pins & elastic (rubber) band ‘cos you never know, spare hair ties, and this little thing that looks like a pen but is actually a mini screwdriver – you unscrew the top, tip out all the little attachments and put the one you need in the magnet bit at the bottom (where the nib would be) so you can fix the loose screw on the arm of your sunglasses, or whatever! Then in the rest of the handbag organiser I have sunglasses, reading glasses, purse (with both cards and cash in it), little pot of plain Aveeno cream (for my eczema), spare shopping bag (folded small), sanitary products in the zip pocket, small tube of hand cream, tiny emery board, packet of tissues, breath mints, flat circular mirror, lip balm (tin of Nivea lip butter, at the moment), tiny sewing kit from Muji, large spare shopping bag for impromptu supermarket stop offs, my little medical kit in a mini cosmetic bag, the current book I’m reading in the bag but outside the organiser, face mask in an outside pocket of the bag, hand sanitiser on a keyring clipped to the outside of the bag, and with that one of those key things to press buttons or open doors without touching anything. I think mine might be the nerdiest response! 😀

    • Isabella Muse

LOL me too! me too! I swear I’m always so curious what everyone else has in their bag! Haha my mom calls her purse a handbag! It sounds so posh! ;-D I have one of those too but I had to stop using it because I was literally carrying around the kitchen sink in my bag because of that lol! I had everything in that little sectional thingy! I love the pen with the screwdriver omg! How Inspector Gadget of you! I think yours is the best response! you have so many dodads in your purse I mean your handbag hehe!

      • Vikki Velvetfur

Aw thank you Isabella, you’re so sweet! I see what you mean about the organiser tempting you to chuck even more stuff in it though, like wanting to fill up all the sections 😀 Oh and I did used to keep a little makeup bag in there too with essentials in, but haven’t worn makeup much over the past pandemic year. I love your idea of having a contact card on you in case of emergencies, that’s a great idea and I’ll have to do that too, thanks for the inspiration 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

aww <3! thank you! as are you! LOL I love that thing but omg I was carrying around everything and some more with me when I had it in my purchase hahaha! I typically lighten up my makeup bag in the Summer as it melts all over the place ;-D but yeah, with covid and masks it's pointless as I'm not touching up as much! Oh my pleasure! My dad always had us do it when we were teenagers and it was just something that followed me into adulthood! 😉 I'm always with my purse so it just made sense 😀
