Bite Beauty Power Move Hydrating Soft Matte Lipstick for Fall 2021 arrives today at sephora.com and just like that Bite Beauty is back in business and ready for lipstick business again. As you know Bite Beauty has been out of the lipstick game for nearly a year and a half now. As you know Bite Beauty completely eliminated all their Amuse Bouche Lipstick Collection as well as many of their other lipstick formulas. It was great time to haul your favorite shades with the many discounts and offers available at the time but little did we know that we’d have to wait nearly two years before Bite Beauty actually launched a new line of lipsticks.

Bite’s dabbled in foundations, powders, blush, and even mascara but lipsticks seemed a thing of the past but here we are entering Fall 2021 and finally a new lipstick formula has landed. Little did we know at the time but they were working on creating a cleaner, vegan formula. When the pandemic struck this may have been delayed or perhaps they just withheld it until a time when lipstick would be welcomed back into the world when mask mandates weren’t as strict as they once were!

And yes, I’m a little disappointed.

Because mattes so aren’t my thing….! Sigh!

Bite Beauty Power Move Hydrating Soft Matte Lipstick is $28 and available in twenty shades but sadly, it’s all matte, all day, all the time.

But I always give Bite Beauty the benefit of the doubt and I did buy one of these. The soft, hydrating formula infused with cocoa butter sounds like it may be easy enough to wear on my drier lips and I’m positive I can expect a super creamy lipstick formula from Bite Beauty not to mention I’m pretty sure they did a nice matte finish that doesn’t cling to drier areas and has a nice smooth finish.

We’ll have to see how it goes but I expect good things!

I ended up with Extra Sugar Buns which is a very pretty deep pink nude that looks it has a brown undertone.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Im cautiously optimistic about these but Im disappointed that theyre matte. My lips cannot handle matte no matter how much I moisturize my lips beforehand. I hope they come out with some creams and glosses soon. I will admire from afar.

Same! But I feel good about them and optimistic because Bite rarely fails right? I’m hoping the soft matte finish is creamy!

I havent bought, but those colors are pretty. Im with you on not being a matte person, so Im on the fence about whether or not to get one of these (I have a gift card wheeee).

I’m not either but typically soft mattes are actually super creamy so I’m having this moment like, “I think these are going to be awesome” I hope I’m right!

I’m holding off until they bring back their cream formula. Pepper is still one of my all time favorite lipsticks and I have about 1 1/2 tubes left. I’m utterly tired of matte lips and not just because I’m a certain age where it isn’t very flattering. I don’t think it’s all that flattering on younger women either. I did dabble when I went back to work last year and bought a slew of Korean lip stains, some of which were indeed matte but not the desert dry matte that I remember from the early 90s. The only reason I bought them was because they held up under a mask and I had some color on my face when I got to work and took off the mask.
