Do We Like The Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette arrives early for Fall 2021 and includes six never before seen rosy-neutral shades. I admit some small part of me had a relieved I can breath again feeling that we weren’t getting yet another palette that contained 30+ shades. I dunno how many more huge eyeshadow palettes I need in my life at this point that was why I was semi excited about the Hourglass Curator Eyeshadow Collection but ouch you hurt my feelings on the price tag there.

Oddly, I’ve reached some point in my makeup life where eyeshadow palettes hold very little appeal but also, the same part of me is like, well, do I really want to go back to spending $18+ on single shades? The struggle is real.

I will sadly say that the Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette holds very little appeal for me. The colors look more taupe than rose and I’d rather throw money at some of the Caviar Stick Eye Roseglow Shadow Sticks from Laura Mercier than this uneventful mini from Urban Decay.

But hey, Urban Decay decided we need yet another palette in our lives so here we are. All six shades are new and “never before seen” but I’m sure we can dupe them across the many Nakeds we already own! It’s $29 and includes the following shades:

  • Glassy (ivory sheen)
  • Public (peachy-champagne shimmer)
  • Laced Up (dusty-rose matte)
  • Stolen (mauve shimmer)
  • Right Time (grey-plum matte)
  • Spiced (deep charcoal-brown with purple sheen)

Do we love it?

Do we need it?

I’m a firm no on this one. I can think of any number of things I’d rather spend $29 on and this isn’t it.

What about you?

Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette is available now.

Im a sucker for nude to mauve/ purple shades so Ill probably but this one

    • Isabella Muse

Wait for a sale though! I’m sure it’ll pop up on sale soon! ;D

  • Fey

Ooh. It’s compact and cute. I do like how the shades are arranged into 3 different duos or 1 duo + 1 quad. These kind of cool taupe shades look muddy on me 🙁 It’s cool that they’re different shades and -might- act as a companion to Naked 3? I don’t have any Naked palettes, so I’m not sure.

    • Isabella Muse

It could be a bit of a companion! I always think of the minis as companions to the big guys! I’m not really all that into it sadly!

  • Michelle

I did buy this one. I rarely wear eyeshadow, but Laced Up and Right Time are calling my name… and yes, not in a huge palette that I would never use up! Those kind of colors seem kind of rare-ish nowadays, and not too smoky. Taupe for me! I’m cool-toned by the way.

    • Isabella Muse

I think that’s prob why I dislike it as I’m not a really cool toned eyeshadow type of girl! It looks pretty from promo images but I feel like the shades look a bit frosty and I can’t stand frost. Did you use it already? Any good?

  • Kimkats

Hmmmm….. I need exactly nothing but this is kinda pretty… imma wait to see swatches tho before I jump. UD has been so hit and miss, and since I need nothing I will wait to see what it really looks like. And for a sale, since it will likely be on sale in the next couple of weeks..

    • Isabella Muse

I think it’ll be on sale mighty quickly as well maybe as soon as Ulta’s 21 Days in September!

    • kjh

Bingo. UD has offended me with their plummet into shitty product. Trust UD? Hardly. Still, this is my slice of the color wheel pie. If it sucketh not, Ill wait for the ulta sale and get it for Ultabucks. I have the feeling this is a cant miss that will turn out terrible.

  • LS

I kind of like it, just cause I need a new everyday pallete. I need to see swatches IRL tho, I am tired of things marked as “rose neutral” skewing too warm for me,

I finished up my Naked 3 a few months ago and was debating repurchasing ever since because i don’t love large palettes but this perfect! I hope they come out with a Naked Honey mini too!

  • Susan

I had the original N3 and ended up giving it away — ashy, muddy, and just didn’t show up well on my skin. Saw a YT swatch video of this mini and I think they picked the ashiest shades to include.

    • Isabella Muse

awww….n3 was never a fav of mine. I’m concerned these will be frosty!

  • Ann Marie

Have you checked out Sydney Grace? Oh man, her shadows are $6 and they are AMAZING. Way better than high end stuff. Makeup Geek is pretty reasonable too. I thought about the Hourglass ones for about a second. Nope. Let me know how you like them.

  • Chris

Funny you mention purchasing the Roseglow Caviar Sticks over this palette! This is my birthday month & at Ulta I purchased the Rose Thorn & Strike a Rose shades to get more points. I already tried the Rose Thorn shade. Another blogger didnt like this shade, but I have no qualms about it.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m loving them at the moment! Great formula, great shades!

  • Linda M

I like it and ordered it. Thought it would be great for travel. I like cool-colored palettes and this one intrigued me.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m like the only one that isn’t into it! I feel sad haha!

  • kellly

I actually might buy this one. I cant use shadows with carmine so the Naked 3 palette, while I loved the colors, was off limits to me. These colors would look great on me and no carmine! So its on my radar as something I can actually use

    • Isabella Muse

these comments are promising as I’m not seeing the joy in this one and I’m surprised to see how much everyone likes it 😀

  • Dee

This actually appeals to me! I love taupe and purply shades. Would like to see in person first, but I have a hunch I’ll get it.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m so surprised how many people are liking it! I thought it was a bit meh!

  • Carrie

I really liked the original Naked 3, so I think I will check this out. We’ll see.

  • Eloise

I have been a huge fan of the naked 3 palette for years and it’s a staple for me both in everyday and going out looks. That said, I just don’t see the need for this one, maybe because I already have the full version and the shades look very similar to the ones in that. Could be for some people though!

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not terribly into it either! Maybe if it goes on sale!

  • kelly

i can confirm that it is so chalky and not pigmented 🙁 The three matte shades are way too chalky. The lighter color performed slightly better but the middle matte shades barely showed up with primer….

It will be going back 🙁
