A Moment Of Breath Meditation Followed By Some Skincare Always Helps to Start the Day

I took my morning power walk this morning and I brought my yoga matt with me and managed to sit and do my breath meditation in the high grass as the waters of the Hudson joined me in relaxing for a minute. Both of us emptied our mind of all the insanity that the day was likely going to bring and just for that moment in time we concentrated on breathing. Nothing else, nothing more. There is something terribly simple yet amazingly important about just concentrating on your breathing. Closing your eyes, breathing in, breathing out, and listening to your body.

I am not a morning person. If I could rock n roll all night I would do just that and sleep all damn day (or party everyday whichever one presented itself first). I hate waking up the morning and people always question my insanity for getting up at 4:45 AM. But I’m really am glad I push myself to do that. At the end of a long day I realize that early start, as hard as it is, really helped me to make the day its most productive.

Along with a good walk and some meditation in the morning I always make sure I take proper care of my body, hair, and face. I always feel my very best when I’ve taken time with my skincare and taken a long shower and perhaps used a good hair mask. These things always make for a good start to my day and make me more confidence to face that day no matter what it may bring.

This probably sounds like utter stupidity to some people but to me it just makes sense to me. You gotta do what works for you right? And this seems to work for me.

My day doesn’t begin until a little COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is smeared my face before most anything else. It hydrates, it smooths, and it preps my skin beautifully for other skincare! (Use code CELEBRATE to get any COSRX product at 10% off)

If its a colder day out comes the COSRX Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream. It’s light yet packs in some heavy duty hydration and perfect if you have drier sensitive skin or Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre which is intensely hydrating yet doesn’t create excess shine or greasiness on skin (Use code CELEBRATE to get any Embryolisse product at 15% off) ! No wonder it’s a cult fav with French women!

If it’s Summer I go with Paula’s Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturizer (Use code CELEBRATE to get any Paula’s Choice product at 15% off) which is incredibly lightweight, absorbs easily, and makes for a perfect lighter, hydrating moisturizer for the warm weather!

Since I get up early enough I’ll pop skyn ICELAND Dissolving Microneedle Eye Patches under my eyes and do other stuff (Use code CELEBRATE to get any Skyn Iceland product at 20% off) . I love these things. They always seem like they make my eye cream go on so much smoother and my concealer look awesome.

Speaking of eyes I picked up that Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF 35 I was telling you about several days ago! And hey, I actually like it. It’s not the coverage I’d get from a regular concealer but it’s ideal for lighter makeup days and does a nice job brightening up my eyes! It’s still 25% off at dermstore.com should you wish to try it because ouch on the regular price tag!

Can’t forget the hair right? Briogeo Be Gentle Be Kind Avocado Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfood Mask is perfect for my long hair and feels quite luxurious when I use it in the AM. I just stocked up a new jar since it’s 25% off at Dermstore!

I could definitely use some meditation and time away right now. If you only knew the crazy two weeks I had; it’s as if the universe conspired against me and everything that could go wrong truly did. I haven’t had this much calamity ever. LOL! I laugh about it because I’m used to high stress, but if I listened to my body, it’s probably screaming for help (well, it technically is because it’s in pain).

The funny thing is, I used to religiously do yoga once or twice. Then life got busy, and I chose to stick with my weights and aesthetics over relaxation and mental health. Yeah, working out is good for me, but we all know it does increase stress/inflammation in the body from recovery. What I wouldn’t give right now to jump into your photo! Looks so relaxing!

Christina even if you take a moment to sit up in bed, close your eyes, and just breath it really is helpful just releasing the stress and getting your mind to calm down I always try really hard to find my calm before the day starts and stuff begins to fall around my ears ya know? I do yoga once or twice a week but I also like to just do my own breathing meditations outside a group setting! I find it relaxing and great for my mental health! If you need more, I hope you know I’m here for you! I have two ears if you need to let loose 🙂 and you’re always welcome to visit! We can sit, close our eyes, and breath together right in this spot!

Awww, definitely will reach out if I’m feeling overwhelmed. And about that visit, we’re considering a late summer/early fall possibly. I know for sure we’ll visit my brother in law soon. I’m definitely meeting up with you when we do.

I look forward to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We’ll have a blast 🙂 Try to hang in there! I know sometimes life can just pile it all on top of us! You can do it 🙂 Just take a minute to breath!

And it isnt even Monday.. One of the things I like about the Cosrx snail is that it seals in whats underneath, but it isnt full-blown occlusive. In fact, its quite breathable. I think I need the Colorescience. It might replace the dearly departed HG FAB eye duty triple remedy. I have my eye on the Kinship on Ultas first page, too. Took the dogs out at first light. Now its 95, and we can wait til tomorrow. Patticake had her teeth removed and shes a low rider, even for a dachshund. Dont want her tongue dragging on the groundwhich it can. I do some breathing while looking over the bay at an undeveloped stretch of protected land during the dog walk. Its most effective before the world is up (and under 95 degrees, yuck.)
