A Story of Amy from Tiktok, How Small a World It Is, and How Hyaluronic Acid On Sale Inspired This Post (All Proceeds Generated by this Post Will Be Donated To Domestic Abuse Victims)

A long time ago (weeks ago) I was hanging out in a, well, it was, a thirst trap of sorts on Tiktok. We’ll call it that even though it was something else entirely different. And a little joke happened about Hyaluronic Acid which I won’t get into here because I don’t want to offend anyone but this is where I met Amy. And this is how very tiny and small the universe is.

I made a comment on this interesting HA video and Amy quickly stepped in and commented back. She revealed that she read my blog for a long time. And we shared this very odd moment over HA and since that day HA is our little inside joke of choice.

It’s so weird to me that out of all the people in world I could meet on that wonderful and hysterically funny post it would be a reader from the blog! It’s a small world! I truly believe all things connect somehow and you find friends in the most unusual of places. Or the tracking on your phone knows a little too much about you. Big Brother is watching!

So, thanks Amy (and a big old OH HAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!), this little sales post is inspired by you.

I hope you meet people in unusual ways that brighten up your life on some small or large scale!

A note from the desk of the Muse………………………

My Black Lives Matters donation post DID not go over well and was met with some heavy criticism (there was a lot of disagreement with me donating to an organization that had anything to do with BLM, etc… it was a little odd that people were so concerned where I donate my own money but yeah, some drama went down!) which has made me very wary to share other orgs I contribute to but I’m going to try this again and hope people don’t come at me for it. Any revenue the post generates will be donated to an organization I’ve personally volunteered at here in New York that provides help to women and small children coming out of abusive homes and situations. If you have questions about the org or you’d like to know more about it please email me or direct message me privately!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

You support whichever non-profit you feeling strongly of. There are always going to be people complaining for no other reason than because they like the sound of their own nasally, whiney voice. It’s easy to criticize and complain when hiding behind a computer screen. I get criticized for volunteering with the vaccine effort, because apparently science is fake and the virus doesn’t really kill and Neil Armstrong didn’t really land on the moon. You do you and bleep people who can’t understand it.

    • Isabella Muse

Thanks Dia! I don’t mind people expressing their opinion or even recommending an org they might wish to see monies go to! I dislike people actually being against what I feel is a valid and important cause. I try to understand that not everyone is going to agree with certain things in life but jeepers that turned into such a hateful situation. Yeah, I’m not really sure I understand why people aren’t getting vaccinated. It’s like they want to be inside forever 🙁

OH HEY!!! Such a small world!! I love that you chose to donate the proceeds the way that you are.

    • Isabella Muse

Oh heyyyyyyyyy friend! 😀 I thought it seemed appropriate 😀

      • Ashe

I’m sorry you got all that backlash. I can truly say that in the years I’ve followed you, I’ve never seen you say one mean thing. I’m sure the BLM organization appreciates what you donated and the domestic abuse organization will as well.

I’m a fairly recent reader and it pains me that people would attack you. I really like you – your have a good heart. Don’t let the meanies get you down!

    • Isabella Muse

Aw thanks Kathy that means a lot to me! It’s ok! I got a tough skin 🙂 and awesome readers like you! Where did you find me? Via a review?

BITD, it was If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all. These days people feel compelled to air their views. Do I bitch bec you have radically different taste in scents? F no. What I like is not the arbiter of content. I enjoy reading the notes and opinion. Uh, tolerance. Long time ago, Zubin Mehta announced to the audience that Now we will play Wagner. Those that were understandably offended left. The Holocaust (oh, yeah, that never happened, per the anti-vax crowd) is the darkest time in recent history. People who were against supporting a composer who revered Hilter left in protest. Some stayed. That is dignity. There were no riots in the streets, though there were opinion pieces on both sides. How about making a stand against something that has meaning? Much of the cancellation is about things that the author finds funny. Much of the cancellation is just cruel. Dragging for its own sake. Keep it up. I know you are sensitive, yet very strong. Go, girl.

Another great organization to donate to is Southern Poverty Law Center or SPLC. From their website: The SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.

Why people feel its necessary to give flack to others because of which group they donate to is I believe because of the anonymity of everyone on the internet. If people really knew each other, there might be less hate seen because people would ask themselves: is it really that important that I post this?

So neat that a reader Amy & you came together on that TikTok video.

    • Isabella Muse

Thanks Chris! I’ll look into that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trolls gonna troll sadly! Isn’t it? It’s a small world!

I have so many posts to catch up on as I’ve been so busy that I’m behind, but I’m so sorry you got any grief for anything but particularly for where you choose to donate! The organizations you donate to and volunteer with are right up my alley and I applaud you for doing what you do. Don’t ever apologize to anyone for that. If anyone comes at you for this post they are the ones with a problem. xoxox
