estee lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm

Hi there, my name is Isabella and I’m very cheap and I don’t like paying full price for a few things in life. Number 1. Lancome Bi Facil! Damn YOUUUUU! Why are you so good!??? WHY ARE YOU SO EXPENSIVE!? I don’t wanna pay $20+ for my eye makeup remover. I have such rage about this!

Number 2. There are a lot of great Korean Cleansing Balms that are like $10 bucks or less so Estee Lauder you need to rethink that damn $47 price tag on Micro Cleansing Balm! STFU NO BODY WANTS TO PAY THAT!

But thank you Ulta for putting it on sale today. It’s still a little pricey but I’ll happily buy it at $28 versus near fifty simoleons. I never technically reviewed Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm because I feared the thunder of the Gods would reign down upon my head. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY are you recommending a cleansing balm that’s nearly $50!? Y u do this to us! Why, Muse, Why!?

So yeah, it never did make an appearance here. I did buy it though and I tried it and I loved it and I was like nope, never again because damn….! The price still hurts my feelings. I tend to wait on a 20% off or more coupon to grab a replacement. It’s quite a luxurious cleansing balm that turns into an oil and breaks down makeup beautifully. $28 bucks even toes the line considering how many cheaper cleansing balms are available but you might want to grab it up during this sale.

Let me know if you get it!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Im an old school Estee fan – my grandmother took me to the counter to get my first foundation (Enlighten! That stuff was awesome!) – but their prices in the last few years have entered ridiculosity territory. What made Este Lauder so awesome back in the day was that she was all about affordable luxury. Theyve always had an upper bracket of products (hello Re Nutriv) but in recent years almost their entire line has become eye-poppingly expensive. I cant remember the last time I bought something from them, actually, because their prices are just an insult at this point.

I agree! I consider EL more mid-range but lately the prices are very luxury! Not to mention their skincare is loaded with fragrance and other garbage and they are charging super premium prices for it!

$50 for a cleansing balm?! Damn, and I thought Clinique was bad. That’s a firm NO from me, sale or not. The ELF balm is lovely for $10.

It’s on sale 🙂 which helps a little haha! I sadly didn’t love the ELF one 🙁 but the Pond’s one is incredible and less than ten!

Gah…. I have been waffling about this one, but I checked my stash and I have A full sized TTDO balm, and several smaller ones that equal a full sized one, and 2 bottles of cleansing oil, so I am gonna pass (I think…) 🙂

The Lancme bifacilI live for their free gifts because I cant make myself buy it ive tried every dupe for it and nothing compares. 🙁

I agree! I’ve tried a lot of dupes for it too and it really is still the best formula!

I’m an archivist/historian by profession and I’ve done independent research on the fascinating yet scary history of the beauty industry. Arden and Rubinstein pretty much developed what we know today and although they might not have invented the concept or the term of perceived value, they sure as heck perfected it. Estee was a Johnny come lately in some ways but she was really the one who grew the department store business, which made such overpriced items available to the masses. Even knowing all of this, I still fall for it too…
