Urban Decay Be Like Naked Cyber Palette Is Perfect for the Holidays Not the Spring

News leaked on Instagram about the new Urban Decay Naked Cyber Eyeshadow Palette that will be arriving in September for the Holiday 2021 season and they absolutely sat at a table and said this is perfect for the Holidays. Spring? That’s too far away! Let’s get this up for the Holidays ASAP!

My cooler friends may just love this one. It’s filled to the brim with lighter pastels. I have actually gone to a support group, had therapy, and finally came to terms with the fact I do not look good in pastels. I am no longer in denial about this. Trust me, in 2008, I was positive I could do pastels like a Goddess from the Heavens above. Nowadays, I’m like, nope, nope, oh and nope! I’m a light medium skin type with warmer undertones and pastels make me look washed up like a mermaid washed up on beach.

The last time I did pastels it was 2008 and Shu Uemura’s Misumi Kitano, created a face chart for me using the brand’s new Rebirth Collection. After that I had to seek out help for my weird addiction to pastels and it took me many years to realize I can’t wear them!

I think on the upside Naked Cyber Palette is going to be appealing for those who have begging and pleading with Urban Decay to please do something cooler. On the downside many of us are going to be like “eh!?!” It really depends how you feel about pastels. Personally I think the palette is yak but I know some people are going to adore it. I think it would have made a much nicer Spring 2022 release versus a Holiday one but hey, everyone’s opinion counts so what do you think of this new Urban Decay Naked Cyber Palette?

Is it a yay or a nay?

Urban Decay Naked Cyber Eyeshadow Palettes arrives in September and will be promoted with the Urban Decay Holiday 2021 Collection!

Depends how pastel! Some do not work for me. A mini version would be more useful.

I would love to get a more spring type palette for Christmas. I can look forward to using it in late February or early March. Winter doldrums time. It is like having a gift card and not choosing to spend it on Boxing Week.

I can’t 🙁 they make me looks like living dead girl if I wear them! Haha interesting and cute point of view there!

Could be just the thing for me. Also do I spy 2 duochromes? Looking forward to finding out more.

IT looks like it! They haven’t technically released info yet but I thought there were douchromes in there as well!

Going only off this picture and not seeing actual swatches, I actually think this is befitting for a winter release. I think people get too caught up with gold, red, and green because of Christmas, but I usually think of shimmery, muted, pale, and icy tones, like when you’re looking at a frozen lake during a winter sunset. This is exactly what this palette looks like to me: frosty taupes, soft oranges, muted plums, and silvery blues. Just look up a winter sunset! There’s color in winter, too, just very soft and calm. I don’t associate spring with pastel at all–other than Easter–because, again, if you look outside, the world starts exploding with vibrant colours.

BUT…we all know how reliable promo pictures are, and the fact that Urban Decay calls this a Cyber palette with a casing that’s rather colorful, I’m guessing the eyeshadows are supposed to be duo and multi-chromes. You can kind of see it in the picture. MAC is releasing multi-chromes for their holiday collection, I think, and these companies always release similar items around the same time.

Who knows. I’m probably completely wrong. LOL!

I really thought this was vaporware. UD has not been exactly reliable. If Christine gets it and gives it a B or better.which I rather doubtI will do it. I was checking out my pastel small train case, (for real, zip train case with pink/green palm print just for real light product) and found an old Dior quint called All Softness. Way old, still good. Not pastels, but lightish, sheerish for washes of color. Eminently wearable. Heavy pastels, like Shroud/Strobe Creepy Cute are not as easy, mattes. Shimmers are more forgiving. And I have every pastel liner known to man, from the Nyx Faux Whites to HE. Colored pastel Iiner with light neutral shadow is my thing. Even over 70, ya gotta sneak color in there somewhere

Mmmmmm… maybe?? Depends on reputable swatches. From only the one picture, the 1st & 2nd shades look too similar, also the 3rd & 6th, and the 4th & 7th & 8th. And the shade on the far right looks totally out of place. Am I overthinking it? Yes. Yes I am. I’d be up for some wintry pastels and duochromes if they’re not chalky.

But I like their Wild West palette and a lot of people didn’t.

I wouldve added more duochromes , and a totally different color story for Cyber. A few people in discord were talking about this palette as its named was leaked at the same time as the Wild West Palette ( which was better on theme ) . But with Cyber Im not really seeing it, its more like some super minimalist future scape than what I would think would be the more fun dystopian cyberpunk aesthetic. At least color story wise a cyberpunk palette would be more fun and be more inclusive .

This looks amazing! Never bought any of the Naked palettes before. I have Swedish and Irish ancestry, so I’m pale AF. Something tells me this will be worth the wait.

  • MarinaD

I really dont need another eyeshadow palette, but Im really looking forward to seeing swatches of these shadows. Since Im in a minimalist makeup phase right now, Im definitely open to pastel duo chromes. If the reviews will be good, I might just take the plunge and buy it.

Im really looking forward to this release and planning to order it for my birthday next month. I feel your pain about pastels: I am a Autumn Greek/Polish woman with pale skin and strange undertones, so it took me a long time to accept I look better in burgundy & olive green than pastels or neons, both of which Im naturally drawn to. But I think these might be ok for my fellow pasty Autumn tone people, as long as we use those crease shades and not just the glittery topper shades. I have also not been excited about a UD release in a WHILE.

  • TC

Wondering if this is going to be like that KVD palette where the colours lay over other colours to change them up?

  • Nikki

I’m very pale-almost ghostly-with a cool undertone, so these pastels (pastel duo/multichromes? Fingers crossed!) should look good on me. I have and like Naked Ultraviolet and Naked Wild West, so I’ll probably end up picking it up.

  • Brooke Whitford

I think this is one of the better Naked palettes that have been released I hate the wild west palette and the Ultraviolet palette only had 1 shadow that I fell in love with and that’s Lucid. I got 5 singles of those for their 50% off sale but I love this palette.

  • Beth Winkler

I think for a lot of people this is going to be like the highlight shade or light shade they want to wear on their lids or inner corner as accent or highlighter then use their other UD naked pallets for the darker shades. From what I’m seeing that is what this will be for me. I love and have all the Naked Pallets some I use more than others but I use them all. I will be buying this one.
