I Tried the Cheesecake Factory Louisiana Chicken Caesar Salad And It’s Not It

The Cheesecake Louisiana Chicken Caesar Salad is a new menu hack that went viral on Tiktok recently and became exclusively available on Doordash soon after. What is the Cheesecake Louisiana Chicken Caesar Salad? Basically, Tiktok user @majortraeger posted a menu hack for the Cheesecake Factory’s Caesar Salad that recommended ordering it by substituting the regular chicken for Louisiana-style chicken and top it off with some caramelized onions.
I’m convinced there’s some viral espionage going on here and @majortraeger works for The Cheesecake Factory’s PR or something! As up until her Tiktok I never even heard about Louisiana-style chicken on the menu. But in her defense, I will say the menu is like a grimoire and I could have missed it.
Anyway, I thought I’d review this today as a just-for-fun post to take a little break from makeup!
So, one of my favorite foods is actually Chicken Caesar Salad which made trying this a no-brainer. I’m always looking for interesting menu hacks and as a lover of Chicken Caesar Salad, I’m all about spicing things up! Literally, spicing it up as I happen to also like spicy food so, hey, here’s a great way to combine all my favorite things.
I haven’t been to Cheesecake Factory in an age and I’m unsure if you can actually perform this hack in restaurants. It is, however, available on Doordash for a limited time which is where I got it. My friends and I were all curious about it and we are playing safe lately so we had a Zoom dinner and movie night where we all ordered the salad and watched Breakin’ 2 together. Yes, Breakin’ 2 needs an entirely another post for discussion so we won’t get into it here.
My salad arrived quickly, still piping hot, and already tossed in caesar dressing. The onions were included in a little separate container and I popped them on top and was ready to dig in. The breading on the chicken was crisp and not soggy. I was very impressed with how well it traveled as it looked and tasted like I just made it. The breading was crisp and the chicken lightly moist. All in all, it was a 10 out of 10 on the chicken. The flavor of the chicken was sadly lacking though. It was incredibly bland and I didn’t get any spiciness or heat from it at all. It tastes like any old fried chicken cult. Not great at all, crisp breading, a lightly moist chicken but the seasoning was 0 out of 0. It added nothing eventful to the salad in terms of flavor.
It deserves mentioning I find the Cheesecake Factory’s Chicken Caesar Salad dressing incredibly bland and uneventful and it’s still the same even with the added onions. It’s like eating salad tossed in a very non-descriptive dressing. No parmesan cheese can be tasted here, there are no crotons to give it a little bit of crunch, it’s just a very bland salad overall and sadly, it didn’t travel well as not only was it bland but the lettuce was a bit soggy. I knew it was going to be a bit tasteless having tried it before so I did ask for extra dressing to see if it would liven things up but they failed to include it in my order.
That being said I was convinced the addition of the Louisiana-style chicken and caramelized onions would add a bit more flavor. Not the case. As I mentioned above the chicken was beautifully cooked but it was tasteless. The onions did add a bit of flavor but not enough to get my tastebuds tingling. I was hoping they would add something a little more interesting to the meal but again, very bland and uneventful. Not to mention, they include a very small portion of onions so not sure how much flavor they can add to such a large salad.
How much? $20.95 for the salad plus tax. If you don’t have a Doordash pass delivery charges vary but should be about $1.99 plus I gave my Doordasher a $15 tip. It was an expensive salad but my friends and I all had fun trying it out and just enjoying time together and that’s priceless.
Cheesecake Factory Louisiana Chicken Caesar Salad sadly isn’t it. Don’t waste your money! I bet you can make this at home with far better seasoning and a better dressing. I know it made me want to try to do so as this was just very bland and tasteless.
Anyone try it?
