5 stars out of 5

If I had to choose two lightweight but hydrating moisturizers for life Paula’s Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturizer and the Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA would be on my list for life.

Both give my dry, dehydrated skin the long, cold drink of water it needs to look brighter, smoother, and well hydrated.

Paula’s Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturizer is particularly a favorite of mine as my skin isn’t only dry but it also has a dehydrated almost chalky-like texture at times and demands as much moisture as I can possibly give it. Since I don’t really like using super-rich skincare in the day as it can not not make me look greasy but it also mucks with my makeup I tend to rely on lighter formulas that give me the boost of moisture I need without the heaviness of a richer formula.

Paula’s Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturizer is just that. A very lightweight moisturizer that packs in plenty of hydration.

Paula’s Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturizer ($36) is available in a squeeze tube that holds 1.7 oz of product. Thankfully, Paula’s Choice knows how much we all hate moisturizers in a jar and always packages them up in an easy-to-use tube that retains the ingredients in the product.

As I mentioned above my skin isn’t only dry but is quite dehydrated as well. This moisturizer not only contains Vitamin B but also ceramides and glycerine. And more interesting is a blend of calcium, potassium, and magnesium that works together with the ceramides and glycerine to help the skin to maintain the correct moisture balance.

The formula is a creamy gel that as expected from a water-based moisturizing “explodes” upon contact with skin and goes watery as you massage it into your skin creating a very easy to absorb formula that leaves skin refreshed, smooth, and very well hydrated. It has no scent and doesn’t leave behind any sticky, tacky feel nor does it make skin greasy or oily. The finish is slightly dewy initially but it settles into my skin and leaves it very soft and smooth.

One of the main reasons I like this formula is because it addresses both the dryness I experience (flaky areas, tightness) as well as the dehydrated, I’m tired look of my skin! After application my skin looks brighter, smoother, and well rested.

It’s also one of my favorite warm-weather essentials as it provides plenty of moisture but not so much so that it feels heavy or too hydrating.

All in all, a great pick if you need a daytime moisturizer and have drier skin!

Good for oily/dehydrated, too. And PCs won’t use scent or irritating ingredients. This and the Purito Deep Sea Pure Water cream are my midweights. Would not be midweight for others, at all. Light and very much a water cream. If you like the Laneige and Belif water creams, but lean towards ‘hypoallergenic’ products, this Paula is for you.

Hmm, now wondering if electrolyte sport drink will serve that benefit from the inside out?
