The new Glow Recipe Strawberry Smooth BHA + AHA Salicylic Acid Serum dropped at sephora.com just in time for the Spring Savings Event that starts on Friday! If you’re Rouge you’ll save 20% off your total with code SAVESPRING.

Like most Glow Recipe products this new Strawberry Smooth BHA + AHA Salicylic Acid Serum is making waves across social media. It’s a combination of AHA and BHA with an acid complex combination of 10%. It looks like one of the main fruit extracts used is strawberry which happens to be a great source of Vitamin C but which Glow Recipe promotes as a way to exfoliate and reduce excess oil and even out skin tone. There are other brightening ingredients here as well such as Azelaic Acid which is great to tame redness and even out skin tone as well as Niacinamide and even Glucosamine. Oddly the brightening ingredients seem to overpower the acids but I’m not complaining. There’s also Salicylic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid which may combat the dryness that Salicylic brings on.

The serum is meant for those with visible pores, textured skin, acne, and blemishes to create a clearer, smoother appearance. BHA/AHA treatments are becoming more and more common in the skincare world but I do fear for our skin’s barriers at times as people are really overusing acids lately. Nonetheless, Glow Recipe’s formula appears to be gentle enough but of course, that remains to be seen.

Glow Recipe Strawberry Smooth BHA + AHA Salicylic Acid Serum is available now at Sephora.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This follows the ‘current wisdom’ of combining treatments and simplifying your layers. GW does things right, so I’m sure this is adjusted for the seeming contradiction of many ingredients. I might cocktail a few toners, but this seems too loaded. And too many functions are not likely to do all functions exceptionally well.
