Marilyn Miglin Joins Our Beloved Tova in the Beauty Afterlife

Sad news broke that Marilyn Miglin has died. We literally just heard the horrible news of Tova Borgnine’s passing and now this. I’m just sitting here shaking my head asking myself now where are all the good old Vintage Hollywood perfumes going to come from? These were two incredible women in the world of beauty.

Best known for musk perfumes, Marilyn Miglin died at the age of 83 this Monday from complications of a stroke. Marilyn has a huge cult following on HSN producing a white musk fragrance called Pheromone Musk that’s simply divine! It’s a very clean, lightly soap-y, true white musk that’s the definition of vintage glam. And yes, it smells quite like Tova’s Signature Perfume but with much better silage.

Marilyn Miglin was also well known for the 1997 murder of her husband Lee Miglin who was killed by Gianni Versace killer Andrew Cunanan.

I’m a devoted fan of her Pheromone Musk and always watched her presentations on HSN which makes this news sad to deliver today.

Rest in Peace Marilyn. I hope wherever you are there are plenty of bottles of fragrance that smell pretty.

Thank you to Claudette for sharing the sad news!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. She was brilliant and incredibly brave to go on as graciously as she did after the tragedy. Unless they’re packed for moving, I’ll do a month of original Pheromone and Destiny in her honor. I liked the color cosmetics as well. She has had my admiration for decades. Marilyn was a role model for how to handle adversity with grace and positivity. And her products were lovely. Chicago and the world have lost a bright star.

This is sad news. I loved and still love her Pheromone Musk. I always got so many compliments. I lived in Miami when Gianni Versace was murdered by Andrew Cunanan. Marilyn Miglin was appearing on QVC during the time her husband was murdered. It was a real tragedy.
    RIP Marilyn Miglin

Thank you, Isabella, for reporting this sad news.
I have watched Marilyn for almost all of the 25 years she was on HSN, and she will be sadly missed. Let’s hope that her fragrances live on, I know that I will treasure my dozens of them!

Thank you for writing about Ms. Miglin. She was an amazing self-made business woman and always fun to watch on HSN.

My favorite of her perfumes was Magic, but her skincare products were good, too. She made a heavenly smelling vitamin C skin cream and a peel-off face mask I loved.

    Rest in peace, Ms. Miglin

I am so very sorry to know this. Marilyn Miglin was such a beautiful, kind, graceful woman. I have worn her Destiny fragrance for years and always tuned in to watch her on the shopping channels. She will be missed.

Marilyn Miglin was such a kind, beautiful person. I sent her a sympathy card after learning the tragic loss of her husband and she actually sent me a thank you note , so much unexpected.
I had visited her boutique in Chicago, and my favorite fragrance is Destiny. She was an icon. Watching her on QVC, and earlier on HSN, was so much fun
