I know, I know one doesn’t always look towards a makeup brand for skincare. In my experience, it’s really rare for a color cosmetic company to excel at skincare as well. It’s just an either-or situation at times. That’s not to say some brands don’t do great at both! It’s just as a consumer and a skincare junkie I tend to look towards brands that concentrate solely on either or.

But, there are exceptions….!

And Bobbi Brown def has some great exceptions in my experience.

Here are 3 Bobbi Brown Skincare Must Haves that I adore and might want to make their way into your cart later this week when the Sephora Spring Sales Event starts plus one that will be 50% off at ulta.com this Saturday!

I have a deep love and appreciation for Bobbi Brown’s makeup line. It’s one of my first real adult, mature woman makeup experiences. I remember when I was starting to notice finer lines under my eyes Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier were the two top brands that I felt made the most flattering of formulas and shades to conceal those lines. To this day, I still appreciate Bobbi’s color collection even though Bobbi is long since gone from the actual creation process of any of it.

But far be it for me to promote Bobbi Brown Skincare anything. As I can be a skincare snob and really, Bobbi Brown skincare simply isn’t it for this snob. But the brand has two products in the line that I’ve come back to time and time again and one that has been added more recently that turned into an absolute ride or die for me!

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturizer $64 (50% Off at Ulta this Saturday or 20% Off using SPRINGSAVE at Sephora starting April 1st)
I’m calling it but Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturizer doesn’t have the best ingredients in the world but it still works like an absolute dream. I’ve been using this for YEARS…! YEARS….! A friend mine that happens to be a drag queen introduced me to this. “If you wanna look as smooth as a baby’s ass this is what you use…” and he wasn’t kidding. I use this as a lightweight Summer moisturizer prior to makeup or in the Winter I apply my moisturizer and use this as a primer before makeup. It eases drier, flakier areas and creates a smooth, soft canvas for makeup to adhere to. It’s a positive dream and creating that perfect surface so makeup looks smoother, fresher, and softer. I normally apply it by dipping a Beauty Blender into it and gently patting it on my face pre-foundation. But of course, simply smoothing it on with your fingers works too. If you experience dry, cracked, or uneven foundation application this is what you need to make it look perfect and flawless.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base $56
I can’t and won’t live without this. Vitamin Enriched Eye Base is a fairly recent addition to Bobbi Brown’s Skincare Collection and what a great one it happens to be! If your eye cream simply isn’t enough and your dry under eyes need a bit more moisture so your concealer looks flawless this is for you my friends. This stuff is incredible. A little goes a long way at creating a smooth, well hydrated area for concealers to glide on top of. It makes any concealer, even dry ones, apply easily and flawlessly! Truly the stuff of legends for drier eyes.

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream $56
The level of love-hate I’ve had for Hydrating Eye Cream has been a wild ride friends. This is something that ten plus years ago never worked for me but fast forward to dry, tired, finely lined eyes and this stuff is dreamy. I don’t find it quite as hydrating enough for nightly use but during the day it provides a really healthy shot of moisture. But the real joy lies in the interesting texture that feels like it erases lines. No seriously, hear me out here. This has a thicker, almost dense consistency that reminds me of softened clay. I know sounds weird but it applies oddly like a primer and fills up finer lines leaving behind a way softer appearance. I seriously adore it for creating a very smooth area for concealer to lay atop!

I was just reading about the bb facebase on ulta and it is marketed as being for normal to oily skin. I was surprised but thought maybe I should try it I actually have a small one here unopened. I have combination skin. Do you agree with the statement on ultas site?

That’s so funny you think of it as mature because when I think of Bobbi Brown I remember her feature in Seventeen magazine circa 1993. And I was 13. Anyway she started a new makeup company that looks very cool.
