Fenty Skin Hydra’Reset Intensive Recovery Glycerin Hand Mask ($22) is an overnight hand mask that contains 40% glycerine as well as fruit oils to heal and protect hands. Honestly, at $22 I was skeptical of this but I purchased it when it originally came out and since that time have re-purchased it. And let me tell you, you NEED it.
I’ve always been a chronic hand washer. Pre-COVID I used to shake a lot of hands over the course of the day and it wasn’t always a pleasant experience. Some people have a cool, smooth hand to shake, others have a hot, sweaty one. It’s like a box of chocolate, you never what you’ll get. I’m not really a fan of shaking hands but it’s a necessary evil in the business world.
The best thing about COVID was most people really don’t want to shake hands as much as they used but with COVID we also experienced a brand new need to wash our hands more than ever before. I remember when COVID originally started I was really going to down with the handwashing. It made my hands pretty chapped and dry. Fenty Skin Hydra’Reset Intensive Recovery Glycerin Hand Mask wasn’t available during that time but I sure as hell wish I had it because it really is brilliant for instantly soothing and hydrating hands.
This comes in a squeeze jar with an attached smooth dome that has tiny slits in it that release the product as you squeeze. It has the consistency of Vaseline and is quite thick. I use it by itself or sometimes I’ll pay it up with a pair of skincare gloves I have! I’ll apply it, slip on the gloves, and go to sleep. Or I’ll just apply it to my bare hands and go to sleep. Either technique works great. It absorbs easily but does leave hands feeling a bit greasy.
It pretty much works as promised. A single application with have you waking up with smoother, well-hydrated hands. Overnight it absorbs into the skin and soothes dry, cracked hands and dryness. I even noticed it did a great job on my dry cuticle area. the side of my hand by my pink tends to become cracked and dry in the winter or if I’m washing my hands too often and this stuff instantly soothes and smooths the area.
Best part? It smells like Benefit Maybe Baby! It’s a very, delicate scent with a mix of fruit and floral notes.
It is a little expensive but I say buy it.
