I’m Tired of Jennifer Grey Let’s Move On Now

So, yeah, this is a snarky post. Let me set this scene up for you before I dive into the snark.

I have a Yahoo E-mail account that’s 21 years old. Yup, 21 years. Anyway, I use that e-mail quite often and typically I’m checking it via desktop which means I pop yahoo.com into my url box and it whisks me away to Yahoo’s front page where I can click to access and check my email.

This typically means I’m exposed to the many, many, many clickbait articles featured on Yahoo’s front page and I hate to say this but they tend to enrage me. I’ve had to literally restrain myself lately as I’ve wanted to take my computer and toss it out the window every time I see a Jennifer Grey article promoted.

“Jennifer Grey explains how she lost her identity after having surgery on her nose!”

“Jennifer Grey says her mother told her to get a nose job!”

“Jennifer Grey says she and Patrick Swayze never got along!”

“Jennifer Grey was engaged to Matthew Broderick and Johnny Depp at the same time!”

“Jennifer Grey reported being forced to carry heavy watermelon on set”

So, Jennifer Grey has a book out at the moment and whoever her PR Team is they rock because she is literally featured on every online publication known to man.

I’ll be the one to say it. It’s annoying.

Eep! Sorry. Was that too harsh? It probably was. I just can’t take the clickbait headings anymore. They are incredibly irritating. I loved Dirty Dancing as much as the next person but this is some serious cash grab going on here because she starred in the film.

I think what’s getting to me the most is Patrick Swayze is long since gone. Let the man rest in peace. But he literally pops up in every article and how Jennifer Grey disliked working with him and how they didn’t get along, etc….etc…… Who even cares at this point? Dirty Dancing was 35 years ago! It’s over, done, the remake sucked, we feel good about the energy that was created in that film but please, stop talking about it to endorse your book.

Ok, my snark fest is now over.

Please resume your day.

And of course, agree or disagree with me as you please!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Yes, THIS!! I mean, does anybody really even know who Jennifer Grey is?? I could not name a single other movie she appeared in.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL! Ferris Bueller but aside from that I can’t LOL! I don’t mind her at all but damn couldn’t open a single online publication a week ago without seeing her headlining!

*grabs a seat next to you on the snark train* I think when a celeb writes a book, it’s either because a) they ran out of money and think the book will increase their cash flow or b) they are trying to be relevant again. There certainly are celebs with long careers and interesting stories to tell, but Jennifer Gray? Without the Patrick Swayze stories, her book will be “meh” at best.

I also have an on yahoo email account, so I get pulled into the clickbait headings, too!

    • Isabella Muse

LOL OMG YOU TOO! I thought I was being crazy with all the “Jennifer Grey said” articles on yahoo! It was insane for a while there!

It is bad form to speak ill of the dead, IMHO. I really liked him and it is sad how he suffered at the end. There’s always two sides to a story and he can’t tell his side now as she’s blabbing about it in her book. I also really don’t care what happened 35 years ago.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not sure it’s ill speaking as she does say he disliked working with her as well but still, leave it be, the man is gone, let him rest.

Ha ha ha ha!!! I hate clickbait but it definitely sucks me in. I haven’t seen the Jennifer Grey stuff but I’m swamped with nasty nasty Harry and Meaghan headlines. Do people really hate them or is this part of Rupert Murdoch’s Newscorp vendetta? I won’t click anymore no matter how tantalizing the link may be. I HATE clickbait.

    • Isabella Muse

ALWAYS! It always sucks me in. Oh gosh yeah I’ve seen those as well. They are everywhere. From what I see there’s a lot of hate towards her.

  • Dee

So it’s not just me! I keep thinking that we read this story years ago and can’t figure out why we are reading it again and why it pops up everywhere.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL! It’s not you! We are all seeing this pop up everywhere. The promotion for her book is slamming it in our faces!
