Just Saying My Order Arriving In Multiple Shipments Is Annoying

Why does my order arrive in multiple shipments? Well, this is a tricky question. Before we answer that question we should discuss the fact getting multiple shipments from one order is annoying. Sorry, but that’s how I feel. I recently placed a Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale and got one handsoap from an order containing ten hand soups, two fragrance mists, two body lotions, and several wallflowers.

Did I get the rest of the order?

Nope. Just the one handsoap and nothing else. The rest is pending. Sigh. I find this beyond irritating because I sometimes forget that my order is pending somewhere. This happened to me recently with a Milani order. They sent one eyeshadow and I never got the rest of the order and I completely forgot about it. Two weeks later it showed up! The same thing with Ulta. I get one item from a $200 order and like a week and a half later the rest of the order arrives.

Sephora?

SAME thing….!

I don’t really love this because as I said I forget. And if it never shows up chances are it slips my mind and I can go months without realizing the order is missing. I have lots going on in my brain sometimes, and I can’t remember if the order goes missing. This happens so frequently lately that I started keeping a little notepad of my orders.

Here’s the weird thing…

Why does my order come in multiple shipments? That’s easy enough to answer. Because stuff is coming from different warehouses. The thing is I only ever had this happen to me with QVC in the past. QVC ships from a variety of different places but just recently I’m seeing it happen from more and more brands and stores. It seems to me that not only is it coming from different warehouses but it’s even shipping from different stores as well. For example, purchasing at Macy’s almost always means you’ll get it shipped from a store versus an actual warehouse. The same happens with Nordstrom from time to time.

With Ulta this happens occasionally but it’s been much, much more frequent lately. As for Sephora and other stores, it’s just recently started happening and oddly enough I’ve checked and the addresses on the labels are the same. So why are they doing multiple shipments is my question? This seems to happen with Ulta as well! I ordered with Ulta recently and waited nearly a week and a half to get one item from an order that contained several. The other items finally arrived on Saturday and again, it was from the same exact location. So, what’s going on? I don’t get it…?

I do know one thing.

It’s annoying.

What do you think of this one order in multiple shipment thing?

Is it as frustrating to you as it is to me?

Very wasteful is my first thought not to mention keeping track to ensure you receive everything

It’s so annoying! Especially when they send one sheet mask or something like that separately ugh.

and it’s always the one item you’re least excited about that arrives first LOL

Cindy’s so right. They must ship via the ‘ship which has the largest inventory.’ (U) Amazon annoys me more, esp if you choose Amazon delivery date, that promises all on a certain date. I get that some is shipped from seller; this they cannot control, but still! You TRY to minimize the packaging, but hell no.

ugh amazon is horrible at times and it’s partially the post office’s fault as I guess they are under scheduled guidelines and they put on my packages “delivered” and they arrive the next day!? Like WTF

OMG!!!! This happened with a B&BW order I placed TWO WEEKS ago!! Two items of 13 have shipped, I’ve received one of the shipped items to-date. So bloody annoying!!!!!! And I was stupid and just placed an order yesterday when they had the extra 20% off and free shipping at $50.

bbw I guess is boggled down because of semi annual but I feel your pain. My order was pretty big and I got one hand soap and nothing else and I placed the order the day the semi-annual started.

It is frustrating. I just put in an order at our Bay store and it is being shipped from two places. I don’t think anything I ordered was available at any store within 100 km of my home. Two envelopes. Can’t they just inter-ship the stuff to one location and then send? Why isn’t stuff available across Canada and not confined to Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver?

My question is why? People in my city shouldn’t have some variety in their undergarments and should only wear white, black, and nude? Some of the main stores get blue, purple, turquoise, animal print! Seems like stuff from Eastern Canada takes forever to get out west. Some stuff comes from some private courier company, so you never really know where anything is. Yes, I track my items.

The most annoying is when they send the free gift separately and it arrives well before the actual product you purchased. Why would the free gift be in a different place than the product? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the free gift with any of the items that were eligible? It is not like it was a surprise that they would be sending the free gift when someone made a purchase. Makes no sense!

Anyway, hope all is well with you and yours. I am currently in a cabin in the mountains taking a relaxing vacation and enjoying your posts. Hope you have a great week!

SAME thing has happened to me with samples. I used to get a big box that contained lime crime unicorn hair dye and nothing else. It was such a waste of packaging and postage. Oh my god that sounds divine Catherine! Enjoy!
