Just Saying My Order Arriving In Multiple Shipments Is Annoying

Why does my order arrive in multiple shipments? Well, this is a tricky question. Before we answer that question we should discuss the fact getting multiple shipments from one order is annoying. Sorry, but that’s how I feel. I recently placed a Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale and got one handsoap from an order containing ten hand soups, two fragrance mists, two body lotions, and several wallflowers.
Did I get the rest of the order?
Nope. Just the one handsoap and nothing else. The rest is pending. Sigh. I find this beyond irritating because I sometimes forget that my order is pending somewhere. This happened to me recently with a Milani order. They sent one eyeshadow and I never got the rest of the order and I completely forgot about it. Two weeks later it showed up! The same thing with Ulta. I get one item from a $200 order and like a week and a half later the rest of the order arrives.
Sephora?
SAME thing….!
I don’t really love this because as I said I forget. And if it never shows up chances are it slips my mind and I can go months without realizing the order is missing. I have lots going on in my brain sometimes, and I can’t remember if the order goes missing. This happens so frequently lately that I started keeping a little notepad of my orders.
Here’s the weird thing…
Why does my order come in multiple shipments? That’s easy enough to answer. Because stuff is coming from different warehouses. The thing is I only ever had this happen to me with QVC in the past. QVC ships from a variety of different places but just recently I’m seeing it happen from more and more brands and stores. It seems to me that not only is it coming from different warehouses but it’s even shipping from different stores as well. For example, purchasing at Macy’s almost always means you’ll get it shipped from a store versus an actual warehouse. The same happens with Nordstrom from time to time.
With Ulta this happens occasionally but it’s been much, much more frequent lately. As for Sephora and other stores, it’s just recently started happening and oddly enough I’ve checked and the addresses on the labels are the same. So why are they doing multiple shipments is my question? This seems to happen with Ulta as well! I ordered with Ulta recently and waited nearly a week and a half to get one item from an order that contained several. The other items finally arrived on Saturday and again, it was from the same exact location. So, what’s going on? I don’t get it…?
I do know one thing.
It’s annoying.
What do you think of this one order in multiple shipment thing?
Is it as frustrating to you as it is to me?
