Sephora Flash 2-Day Shipping Is No Longer Available And You May Not Know It

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Head over to sephora.com and read the fine print my friends as the Sephora Flash Shipping Program has ended and you may not even know about it.

As of now, it reads:
Prior to June 15, 2022, the FLASH annual subscription was, renewed automatically; this feature has been disabled as of June 15, 2022 and all subscriptions that were current as of that date will end one year after the date they were started or last renewed.

Sephora Flash Unlimited 1-2 Day Shipping was originally a free service for Rouge Members. In 2019, Sephora Flash Shipping was no longer be available for Rouge Members an automatic benefit.

2-Day Flash Shipping used to be a $10 option available to anyone that made purchases at Sephora but it was later offered as a free option for Rouge Members and later was raised to $15 for everyone else. It later became a redeemable reward for Rouge Members. You were given the opportunity to choose a Celebration Gift when you upgrade or renew your Rouge Status and one of the items was Free Flash 1-2 Shipping.

Honestly, I haven’t gotten 2-day shipping from Sephora in ages. My orders normally take a week or more to arrive so Flash was a completely pointless benefit and perk! I won’t miss them removing it as an option because it was simply worthless to purchase or even use a reward perk to get it.

This is one more reason that Sephora’s Reward Program is completely pointless. They should just either discontinue the entire Reward Program or revamp it completely and make it more appealing for consumers to want to join up and actually shop at Sephora.

On that note, I will say this news is concerning because Amazon also recently released a statement saying that they are placing priority on certain shipments. Meaning things like diapers would get shipping priority over parcels that contain more personal purchases! So, you may be paying for Prime but don’t expect to actually get your purchase right away in the future as your neighbor may be ordering something that takes priority over your order or vice versa!

What other companies and brands will do this or even cease to offer free shipping?

I hope not many as I hate paying shipping for anything! On that note, if this was to happen it may drive consumers to stores more which could be a perk for brick and mortar locations!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I just discovered this! I hadn’t made a purchase in a while and when I went to checkout I saw that I was being charged shipping. Went back to my emails to check it had auto-renewed and found nothing. Got on a customer service chat and eventually was told the program is phasing out. I understand that they can do what they do want, but I would’ve appreciated an email or something. I just hate paying for shipping so flash was an easy choice for me.

FREESHIP code seems to work but it isn’t 2 day sadly but hey, flash isn’t either for me anyway! So might as well do FREESHIP code. It’s sad they can’t just send out a mass email. It would be helpful 🙁 instead they just blindside us by making us dig for this type of info!

Just another reason why I barely shop at Sephora anymore. Honestly, the removal of Flash as a Rouge perk was a big factor in that decline for me. Now with Ulta’s shipping having improved so dramatically, plus they have a ton of brands that used to only be available at Sephora, PLUS their incredible rewards program, I do far more shopping at Ulta than Sephora these days. It’s always my first choice, I only check Sephora for things I can’t get at Ulta.

I’ve been shopping at Sephora since they opened their first US store in NYC in the late 90s when I was in college there, and it brings me no joy to find them so disappointing these days. 🙁

Honestly, I dunno if I’ll miss it Jen! I never really got it in two days anyway so no great loss. Same here! I don’t think I’ll even make Rouge this year because I do most shopping at Ulta! I remember Sephora being huge for me too back then! It’s so sad!

I just renewed (not automatically, it originally ended in July, which was my choice) my FLASH subscription last week, it’s $15 now, but it will be in force until August of next year. It’s still available.

I have spent so little in Sephora this year, I can’t beleive it! I remember when our first sephora opened up – it was in the JCP at a local mall, and I was ecstatic!! Now there’s a “real” sephora, 2 in the Kohl’s stores here and the JCP one, which is phasing out, and I still go to Ulta more often. The next time Sephora has one of those “spend a crapton of points and get 15% off” codes/coupons, I’m going to use it and try and deplete my points. I honestly don’t think I would miss sephora (much) now if it were gone, but with 2 brand new ones in Kohl’s I don’t think it’s going anywhere, which is ok. But they need to tell customers when they’re going to do things like scrap the flash program. And they need to can their “Rewards” program because it stinks. If they’d implement one like Ulta has, I would probably be a lot more likely to shop there these days….

I still shop sephora for a few niche type products but all in all, you can just get most of what is sold at sephora at ulta or directly from the brand’s own website plus the brand prob offers a deeper discount when they have email sign ups and such for a coupon!

I haven’t gotten anything delivered from Sephora for such a long time and that was a perk. I’d rather not pay for shipping but so be it. Ulta has them beat in so many areas. i don’t care if I lose rouge but I do care if I’m not platinum or diamond with Ulta. And since we are ragging on Sephora, it drives me nuts that if you order something online from Sephora you can’t return it to JC Penney’s or Kohl’s.

I have Flash2Day Shipping, and I agree with you!
Almost every order I make will contain an item that “Cannot be Overnighted…..”
So, I end up not really getting the perk I paid for. 🙁

Also, if you have ANY liquids, fagetaboutit!

    • Isabella Muse

same Michelle same! I would get my order within five days or sometimes seven anyway so no loss!

I was really liking the idea of Kulfi and Glossier and was thinking of rethinking my ‘ex’ relationship with Sephora. S was so not on my radar that I didn’t know this. What is worse than the universal blunder known as Sephora rewards? Getting intrigued at last about the lineup and then remembering the rewards program that not only sucks, but also is offensive and demeaning to their clientele. S gotta have some major cojones to foist that crap on their presumably discerning clientele.

When I received the email yesterday I kind of thought the same thing. For me, it will mean that I buy online to pick up in-store a heck of a lot more often. Like you, I despise paying for shipping. Which is why I started shopping at Sephora more than Ulta a couple of years ago. Since the Ulta is much easier to get in and out of in my city I could see that I might end up buying online to pick up there more often than Sephora now though. But two of our Kohl’s stores now have in-store Sephora’s and they are relatively simple to get in and out of too so I could see using them as an option. For me personally, it will drive more purchases to the brick and mortar….OR I’ll end up purchasing things from other retailers that provide free shipping. It’s not like the Sephora rewards program is much of a draw. I could easily see going back to getting Platinum status at Ulta again. Especially since I’ve migrated away from Natasha Denona powder shadows. I wear far more cream stick shadows and Ulta carries both of my favorites, NudeStix and Laura Mercier Caviar. Plus with Ulta carrying Hourglass almost all my “needs” can be taken care of there. Basically the lack of free shipping will simply mean that I shop around more instead of just always ordering from Sephora.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not really depressed over this at all as I wasn’t getting my orders on time anyway plus as you said Ulta has provided a much easier experience all around! Sephora’s rewards program is def not a perk! Perhaps for 20% off but really, you can pretty much score that from any brand lately or even deeper discounts come Black Friday/Cyber Monday!

Hi! Thanks for this info about Sephora flash shipping! I totally agree that it was pretty much useless & I don’t remember ever getting actual 2 day shipping, even though I had the subscription. I also didn’t know they cancelled it until I went to place an order for $29 today & it said “You’re only $6 away from free shipping at $35 purchase”. Um, what? So I googled it & found your post! I’ll check out your other posts cuz it seems like we are like-minded 🙂 Thanks!
