Twice Is Nice When It Comes to Body Lotion Application Here’s How To Get Them To Absorb Easily

I learned a very important lesson this past year and that’s how to get body lotions and creams to absorb fully so that they provide my dry skin with plenty of moisture. No one likes ashy, chalky, dry skin and I have plenty of that to go around should you need any.

I’ve never been a fan of a lot of body creams and lotions because they tend to leave me greasy or too sticky. But I’ve found the perfect way to apply them so that they not only absorb fully and easily but also, so they provide lasting hydration.

Here’s how to apply those pesky body lotions and creams for the best benefits.

Thicker body creams, butters, and lotions are a pain right in the butt when it comes to applying them on dry skin! They just don’t seem to absorb and they just sit on top of the skin and never feel like they truly sink in. I’ve learned applying them twice is the way to go!

I have learned over the years to never ever apply body cream or lotion on dry skin. Just don’t. Trust me. The first step in applying your body cream is to do it right out of the shower on your wet skin. Yup, sounds messy I know and sounds like a waste of product too and in some ways it is but hear me out. After I step out of the shower and before I even reach for my towel I’ll grab my body lotion and start applying it anywhere I’m dry (legs, arms, elbows, knees, etc….)! At this stage it may not fully absorb or it may do so! It depends on how thick your lotion, butter, or cream is! I found lotions absorb fast whereas butters or creams may still sit around on on my skin! After this step I’ll start drying off my body and yes, this may mean some of my cream will be wiped away but much of it will remain and you can always make sure you rub it in as you go!

After I’m dry, before putting my clothes on, I go in with a second layer of cream. Yup, another application. Trust me, if your skin is dry it’ll be oh so thankful for a second layer. You’ll find the second layer absorbs super fast this time around since your body was sort of primed with that first application. Skin will feel supple, softer, and smooth as well. And you’ll notice that your cream won’t be sticky nor greasy at this final stage.

I’ve been doing these two applications for the past year and I’ve completely eliminated to dry skin on my elbows, knees, and legs. My skin looks so much healthier and smoother thanks to this method. I urge you to try it out if you aren’t a fan of body cream and lotion application because you don’t like that greasy, sticky feel!

It works incredibly well and my skin never looked so good or felt so smooth! If you try it out let me know if it works for you!
