I Dunno What It Is But the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Face Palette for Holiday 2022 Are Tempting this Year

I really do hate to say it but the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Face Palette in Butterfly, Tiger, and Elephant are very tempting this year. I’m making my Sephora Holiday Savings Event sales list and I’m having a difficult time not popping at least one if not two of these in my cart. The blush shades just seem to pop out at me with this palettes. They really are gorgeous. Ouch on the price though at $85 each even after 20% Off it’s still $68 each. Do I do it or don’t I? Are you hauling these?

Each limited-edition palette features photoluminescent technology and exclusive packaging by artist Katie Scott. They did three palettes and as you may know they’ve gotten plenty of grief about their lack of shades ranges for darker skin tones which may account for the fact they went with three different palettes this year. It’s still not nearly enough to cover a wide range of skin tones particularly darker tones but I guess they heard the ranting and realized they had to make some effort even if it is a small amount of progress.

The three palettes are Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Butterfly Face Palette, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Elephant Face Palette created for medium skin tones, and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Tiger Face Palette for deeper tones. Each palette has blush, highlighter, bronzer, and finishing shades for a total of six shades each that are .04 oz per shade.

Do you think you’ll grab any of these during the sale?

I get one very year and end up disappointed but still took the plunge and got Elephant. I love it! I love everything in it this year!

LOL! I tend to buy them and get disappointed too! I hope I like these and they really do look gorgeous!

I love the Tiger palette. I am passing on the Sephora sale…but will pick it up when it goes on sale elsewhere 😉

I really do too! I didn’t look at them until just recently and now I’m like wow I sort of want these!

The colors this year are fabulous. The cost ratio for holiday vs. rest of the year w/HG always sucks. Most brands do special discounted offerings, but HG often gives less product with a heftier tag. That said, these do cover a lot of bases and have a lovely finish. If you have a stash hole these might fill, do it.

I’ve watched several reviews and swatchings by people with fair, cool complexion like myself. All were disappointed with the HourGlasss color range. Instead, I’ve decided to spend money on indie brands like Sydney Grace. I feel better supporting small business and you can’t deny the amazing quality of SG.

I love the convenience of these palettes. Having two shades of blush, a bronze, highlight and finishing powders in one palette is just so convenient. My last one lasted a full year of daily use so I was all set to buy one this year. I opted for the elephant palette and was really disappointed – the bronzer is a shiney orange and the blushes are too milky chalky looking for my taste. The others don’t have the same set up in terms of blush bronze highlight and powder and are too dark or too glittery. I can’t find another palette with all my face powders in one anywhere! Drugstore or high end. I returned my elephant palette and am now lost in what to do for those steps.

I have 4 hourglass palettes and also all the different blush colors in the individual compacts. It is a great product but I have to admit I have hardly used them. It is entirely my fault because I love high end beauty but have a massive collection. The hourglass palette is almost the same as all the others from past years. If you are going to use it and you don’t have any hourglass it might be a nice investment. The price is pretty high even with 20 percent off. If women are worried about buying food and clothes for their kids don’t get pressured into buying something you really can’t afford. I’m 59, do not work and have a great husband. When I was a young mother I bought for my children and bought my drug store makeup on sale. Be a stay at home mom and don’t invest in something if it is going to cause you financial distress. Hourglass is a beautiful product and I love mine but we all need to keep our priorities in order and love your family and take care of the babies first. Blessing, God loves you!

Ugh ! I ended up with TWO after I watched some you tubers use them on their eyes. Which turns this into a full face pallet …so if you break it down into Blushe, eyeshadow, setting powder and highlight….it’s a STEAL at 20% off…….RIGHT ?!?!?

I got the tiger. The quality is great but it is hard for me to use just one shade. Because they are small I end up just using the whole thing every time I use it. So that’s the only thing. The squares are fairly small and I get it all
    Mixed up.
