Sephora Early Access Holiday Gift Sets Suck!

Somebody has to say! This whole Sephora Early Access Holiday Gift Sets on the Sephora app sucks. Over the past two or three weeks every Monday I get a text from Sephora telling me there are new Holiday 2022 Gift Sets and product launches now available on their app. Sometimes the alert reads, “Early access for Rouge” and sometimes it just says “App Exclusives” but either way it’s annoying and it sucks.

I get the way to generate traffic to the app but why are we releasing Holiday sets in dribs and drabs. I find it frustrating and irratating. Not to mention the early access is really pointless because it’s only one day! Tomorrow everything will be on the website. It’s bizarre to be like, “Hey Rouge! You guys are SO SPECIAL! Here’s some early access for you!” and within 24 hours the items are available for everyone else. Gee, thanks Sephora, that made me feel super special.

Can we talk about the fact the items are really THAT exciting? I mean, ok they have the Peter Thomas Roth Gel Patches Set for early access and yeah, that sold out fairly fast last year but dude, it’s NOT REALLY THAT SPECIAL that it has to be offered as an early access product. They also have a One/Size Til Dwn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray Duo available. Again, not really that big a deal.

I just don’t see the point of doing Holiday launches like this. I dunno maybe this creates some hype and buzz around releases and perhaps people get more excited about launches using this marketing technique. Personally, I found it frustrating and dumb. Just give me everything at once because ain’t nobody got time for sitting around, waiting for texts from Sephora every week about the latest Holiday launches.

What do you think?

Do you like the whole Sephora Early Access Holiday Gift marketing scheme?

Or do you just want it all in one big go?

Off topic, bec the early offers and reception have left me cold and bothered. They thought the Titanic was unsinkable. Probably a real quote: Iceberg dead ahead! As part of a major luxury conglomerate, they sure have some piss poor thinkers running that ship.

ngl dropping holiday releases like that would make me not want to get any of it even if I was interested. Like why do it that way?! I’m not Rouge but I would be mad salty if I was and was getting those alleged early access holiday drops like that lol!

I got a general holiday releases email only to find that the Sephora website link has nothing on it. It says there’s no results but if I click new releases… it’s all there. Maybe it’s somehow connected to the Rouge alleged early access so it just made what’s available already go haywire

I THINK this is app exclusive today so not just rouge but did get a few “rouge holiday exclusives” it’s so dumb. Like come on just drop it all at once! Dropping it to Rouge first does nothing at all to entice me to buy. Weird on that link but I find that both ulta and sephora have weird website issues lately!

I once had over 50k in points with Sephora. Each time at the checkout, I would decline the pathetic “rewards” at the checkout counter. Finally they revealed their “epic” points… alas, not so epic at all. Week after week, I would eagerly await new reward releases. I got a pair of Too Faced sunnies, which I unfortunately sold on eBay when they didn’t fit. I got a signed Tarte palette, which I could have cared less about being sign and I just wanted the palette. Even with the epic rewards, I will still scraping at the bottom of the barrel with all of these lame rewards. The good ones were gone in 0.5 seconds, and the rest were just lackluster. Finally, one struck my eye… a trip to Guerlain for a meet and greet event with a custom Meteorites palette and other goodies! Yay, count me in! Somehow, I managed to beat the clock to get it in time. Well, it was unceremoniously cancelled without so much as an email. I had to take the initiative to contact Sephora asking them about further details for them to tell me it had been cancelled. They sent me a standard Meteorites palette, and didn’t bother to refund my points. I really didn’t care at that point. Along the way they changed their rules so that points would expire after a certain time. They slowly ate away my points. I couldn’t care less. I don’t need your points or your company or your lame “rewards” or pathetic “exclusives.” Honestly I respect a company more if they are just outright in their practices as opposed to attempting to convince us these things are “incentives.” Confessions of a former Sephora shopper…
