Farmacy Wake Up Honey Eye Cream with Brightening Vitamin C is a new brightening eye cream that contains Vitamin C to treat dark circles. This new formula also, contains a blend of hydrating honey to moisturize drier eyes and caffeine to treat puffiness. Farmacy is calling it a lightweight formula that acts as a “dark-circle eraser” and that their clinical studies showed dark circles reduction by 100% in those who used the product. It also contains a cranberry peptide to smooth crow’s feet and fight wrinkles over time.

I happen to love Farmacy skincare but honestly, I don’t always buy into eye creams that promise to completely erase dark circles. I find that debatable. That being said I was very happy to see Farmacy introducing a new eye cream for Spring 2023 but sadly, my excitement died a quick death. I got a text that Sephora just got the item in stock and Rouge Member had early access. Yay! Awesome! I was all prepared to purchase it. It’s $45 a little pricy but I’ve dropped more on eye creams so, I wasn’t too put off by the price. The problem was as soon as I clicked on Sephora’s link I was presented with 274 five star reviews.

Groan.

This totally put me off. Farmacy sent out early releases to a variety of outlets. In return, they asked people to post reviews on Sephora. Great! I’m all about free products and reviews from real people versus youTubers but sadly, these reviews aren’t really helpful at all. It’s just a lot of raving and telling everyone how this immediately cleared up dark circles and puffiness. It totally turned me off and I ended up not purchasing it. I don’t understand why brands do this. Farmacy has a great cult following! I know many of you love their skincare as much as I do. They really don’t have to “buy” reviews with free samples. I think their products speak for themselves. This just seems so shady. But hey, it isn’t only Farmacy doing this. A lot of brands do the same thing lately.

If you check about 99.9% of the 274 reviews were all posted within the last day or 15 hours ago. I should hope these people had the product in their hands at least a month before pouring out their ravings.

Right now I’m a bit salty and won’t be purchasing Farmacy Wake Up Honey Eye Cream with Brightening Vitamin C. Maybe later!

What do you think of this new formula?

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. I’m with you. Instant hundred+ reviews means think it over and forget it. My fave from my customer comment on Sephora, not published because of their trigger word policy. I said some liners (Touch-in-Sol?) tugged like torture (worst ever to me) Can’t say I expected publishing, but I wanted S to know how they sucked. Went back to see if S had posted it….obviously not…but then S had>150 reviews with an average of 4.5 for liners that wouldn’t even draw a line and nearly poked your eye out, lol. Despite loving this industry, you have to be cynical and recognize how shady it is. Caveat emptor!

I HATE all the reviews from people getting free samples. None of them seem true and totally turn me off a product. I have been waiting to buy more at a later time so I can read reviews from people who have actually purchased the item. The companies ned to stop doing this so much IMO.

Likewise 🙁 some are at least honest but a lot are either “I really like this” short or just completely false. “This completely erased all my dark circles” I struggle to believe that.

I’ve been fortunate to be a tester a few times here and there, but for very small brands who reached out to customers who purchased from them in the early stages. And they usually ask for feedback on their marketing and advertising techniques. I just told a company I absolutely hate it and will not buy a product if their Instagram page is full of influencer reviews from people who clearly don’t need the product. These are products that target a specific concern, and by sending it out to a bunch of people who are popular, it doesn’t help convince a consumer who really needs it to buy the product.

Sephora is a joke when it comes to reviews. I tried to post a few honest reviews to counter all the questionable reviews, but it shouldn’t have to be this way, and I also shouldn’t have to state my review with “I purchased this product myself.”

I love the theory of brands getting their newest launches into the hands of consumers versus influencers/bloggers but I don’t love the concept of it turning into a 100% great review 🙁 I can get that response on youTube and Tiktok. I’d want something way more real. Sephora, I tried as well! But both times I did a three star rating it was removed. Just disappeared. Which is sad!

Ok thank you for writing this! I found your blog bc I truly googled for real reviews of this product that aren’t gifted samples and I have found none! It’s so aggravating when you’re trying to do your due diligence when shelling out a lot of money for a product and all the reviews are “paid for”.

Hi Robin! How are you? I know exactly what you mean 🙁 If it helps at all I did purchase this and I’m testing now. I normally test skincare for about a month! So, check back with me in a few weeks and I’ll have a review live 🙂
