The smartest thing that Philosophy has ever done was put The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash into a pump bottle. Praise be! Yes, you read that right The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash now comes in a pump bottle. Our skincare prayers have been answered.
Let me give you a little backstory on my love-hate relationship with The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash. I used to be a hardcore Miracle Worker fan. It was my skincare choice for a while and we had a solid relationship. I also love Purity and a ton of cult-fav Philosophy skincare picks. And yes, The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash was one of my exfoliating products of choice. To this day, I still keep a bottle around and have a toxic romance with it. I’m pretty sure it does no favors to my skin since it is a harsher scrub but I love how it gives me a chemical peel-like smoothness after I use it. But the problem is, it dries me out like a raisin in the sun. It’s just not a good pick for my drier skin. Do I still use it? Yeah, I do if I run out of my beloved Dr. Denese Firming Facial Microdermabrasion Cream as it gets me the same results without the extra dryness.
Another really big problem with this product was the packaging. It came in a squeeze bottle and was IMPOSSIBLE to get out. And the older the bottle got the harder it became to get the scrub out of the bottle. We’re talking about wrestling with the bottle and trying to squeeze out a tiny dollop of product! You needed the strength of an army to get that small amount out. It was crazy annoying. And it made me do a mental eye roll when opening my cabinet and seeing it sitting there, mocking me for not being able to get even the smallest amount out to use on my face.
Fast forward and a hundred years later Philosophy obviously heard fans complaining as it’s now available in a pump! I hope this clears up the annoying issue of getting it out of the bottle but I do have concerns. This is a pretty thick gel-like consistency with tiny refined exfoliating grains! The texture may just cause the pump to clog up but let’s hope not.
I’m hopeful the new packaging is awesome.
